Daryl Paul Lilley (born 17 September 1974) is a New Zealand former professional rugby union player. [1] [2]

Lilley was born in New Plymouth and is an old boy of New Plymouth Boys' High School. [3]

A goal-kicking utility back, Lilley began in provincial rugby with Taranaki in 1993 and moved to Canterbury four years later, spending the rest of the decade playing fullback with the Crusaders. [4] He contributed to the Crusaders' first Super 12 title win in 1998, scoring the winning try in the semi-final against the Sharks. [5] After returning to Taranaki in 2000, Lilley began playing for the Hurricanes, which used him mainly as a winger. He finished his career with a season at the Newcastle Falcons, as injury cover for Jonny Wilkinson, then two seasons with Rugby Viadana in Italy. [6]

Daryl Peter Earl Gibson is an international rugby coach and former New Zealand rugby union footballer. He played for the Crusaders in the Super Rugby and represented his country with the All Blacks. After success as assistant coach with the Waratahs side when they won the 2014 Super Rugby Championship, Gibson replaced Michael Cheika as head Coach of the team in 2015.

The 2007 Super 14 season started in February 2007 with preseason matches held from mid-January. It finished on 19 May with the final at Kings Park Stadium in Durban, in the first final between two South African teams in the history of Super Rugby. The visiting Bulls won the 2007 Super 14 Final, scoring a try in the 83rd minute and narrowly defeating the Sharks 20–19, thereby becoming the first South African side to win the Super Rugby title in the professional era.

Taranaki Rugby, previously the Taranaki Rugby Football Union, is the governing body for rugby union in Taranaki, New Zealand; Taranaki is a region of New Zealand that covers areas in the districts of New Plymouth and South Taranaki. Established in 1889, they represent the Mitre 10 Cup side, Taranaki Bulls, and Farah Palmer Cup side, Taranaki Whio. It is also affiliated with the Chiefs Super Rugby franchise. Their home playing colours are amber and black and they play their home games at TET Stadium & Events Centre in Inglewood.
