Dasari Venkata Ramana, popular for his Chandamama style of story writing is an author hailing from Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh. His genre of writing is mostly confined to children's literature. He has been awarded with Bala Sahitya Puraskar for Telugu language for the year 2014 from Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi. [1] [2] [3] He has also been awarded Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University's annual literary award under Children's Literature category for the year 2006 (Awarded in 2007). [4]

She won the Sahitya Akademi Bal Sahitya Puruskar in 2017 for her anthology Wild Child and Other Stories . She has spoken about and written extensively on children's literature in India. She headed the National Centre for Children's Literature at the National Book Trust India, the apex body for children's literature in India. She also runs a podcast on Hubhopper called Literature in Action, and was an invitee to the India Conference at the Harvard Business School in 2018.
