The New York Jets are a professional American football team based in the New York metropolitan area. The Jets compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league's American Football Conference (AFC) East division. The Jets play their home games at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, 5 miles (8.0 km) west of New York City. The team is headquartered in Florham Park, New Jersey. The franchise is legally organized as a limited liability company under the name New York Jets, LLC.

In 1999, The Sporting News listed Rice second behind Jim Brown on its list of "Football's 100 Greatest Players". In 2010, he was chosen by NFL Network's NFL Films production The Top 100: NFL's Greatest Players as the greatest player in NFL history.
James Bayard Turner was an American football placekicker who played in the American Football League (AFL) and the National Football League (NFL) for the New York Jets and the Denver Broncos. He was a two-time Pro Bowl selection with the Jets and a member of their Super Bowl III championship team. Turner was chosen for the AFL All-Time Second-team and the Denver Broncos Ring of Fame.
LaDainian Tarshane Tomlinson is an American former professional football running back who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 11 seasons. After a successful college football career with the TCU Horned Frogs, the San Diego Chargers selected him as the fifth overall pick in the 2001 NFL draft. He spent nine years with the Chargers, earning five Pro Bowl appearances, three Associated Press first-team All-Pro nominations, and two NFL rushing titles. Tomlinson was also voted the NFL Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 2006 after breaking the record for touchdowns in a single season. He played two further seasons with the New York Jets, before retiring. He was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017.
James Joseph Harbaugh is an American professional football coach and former quarterback who is the head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as the head coach at the University of Michigan from 2015 to 2023, the San Francisco 49ers from 2011 to 2014, Stanford University from 2007 to 2010 and the University of San Diego from 2004 to 2006.

Terry Randolph is a former American football cornerback. He played college football for the American International Yellow Jackets, where he was a two-time All-New England selection. He then was selected in the 11th round of the 1977 NFL draft by the Green Bay Packers and played that season with them before being released prior to the 1978 season. Randolph later had a brief stint with the New York Jets in 1979 before ending his career.

He spent time with the Denver Broncos, New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, and Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League (NFL) before playing with the New Jersey Generals and Pittsburgh Maulers of the United States Football League (USFL). Afterwards he played a season with the Syracuse Express of the minor Empire Football League (EFL), before returning to the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings (1986) and making a second stint with the Philadelphia Eagles (1987). He finished his ten-year career by spending a year with the New England Steamrollers of the Arena Football League (AFL) in 1988.
Phillip G. Darns is a former American football defensive end who played one season in the National Football League (NFL) for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He played college football at Mississippi Valley State and was signed by the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent in 1982. Darns also spent time with the Detroit Lions in the NFL and the New Jersey Generals in the United States Football League (USFL).
