Davern L. Williams (born February 13, 1980) is a former American football defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL) for the Miami Dolphins and New York Giants, and the current Defensive Ends Coach at Kennesaw State University. He played college football at Troy State University (now Troy University) and was drafted in the seventh round of the 2003 NFL Draft. [1] Williams was the defensive line coach for East Mississippi Community College, and was featured in the first two seasons of the Netflix series Last Chance U . [2] [3] Williams was also the defensive line coach at Troy University, his collegiate alma mater.

The team was led by Houston Nutt, who was in his second season as the Rebels' head coach. The six-episode first season explores the football program at East Mississippi Community College, which features several collegiate athletes that have had trouble in their lives and struggled with finding structure. The players are then required to perform at the junior college (JUCO) level, under the stewardship of coach Buddy Stephens, in order to prove themselves and return to Division I.
