David Atkins is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s and 2000s. He played for Canberra in the NRL and for Huddersfield in the Super League.
Atkins made his first grade debut for Canberra in round 9 of the 1997 Super League season against the Perth Reds at Bruce Stadium. Atkins was later recalled into the Canberra team for the 1997 finals series and played in two finals matches against Penrith and Cronulla. In the 1998 NRL season, Atkins played eight games for Canberra including their elimination final victory over Manly. Atkins last game for Canberra came in the 2000 NRL season where the club lost 38-10 against the Sydney Roosters in that years elimination final. In 2001, Atkins joined English side Huddersfield where he played a total of 31 matches over two seasons. [2] [3] [4]

They have competed in Australasia's elite rugby league competition, the National Rugby League (NRL) premiership since 1982. Over this period the club has won 3 premierships,. They have not won a grand final since 1994 and last played in a grand final in 2019. The Raiders' current home ground is Canberra Stadium in Bruce, Australian Capital Territory. Previously, the team played home matches at Seiffert Oval in Queanbeyan, New South Wales, with the move to the AIS Stadium in Bruce taking place in 1990. The official symbol for the Canberra Raiders is the Viking. The Viking, also a mascot at Raiders' games, is known as Victor the Viking.
Brett "Noddy" Kimmorley is an Australian rugby league coach and former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1990s and 2000s and is the current interim coach of the Wests Tigers. A New South Wales interstate and Australian international representative halfback, he last played for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs of the NRL. He previously played for five other clubs: Newcastle Knights, Hunter Mariners, Melbourne Storm, Northern Eagles and the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks. Kimmorley also represented Country NSW four times and New South Wales ten times as well as playing 15 times for his country including the 2000 World Cup. He also played two Super League Tests. He retired at the end of the 2010 NRL season.
