The Rochester Knighthawks were a professional box lacrosse team in the National Lacrosse League. They played in Rochester, New York at the Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial. The Knighthawks were previously members of the Major Indoor Lacrosse League from 1995 to 1997. They were members of the NLL since the league's inaugural 1998 season.

The Buffalo Bandits are a lacrosse team based in Buffalo, New York playing in the National Lacrosse League (NLL). The 2011 season was their twentieth season in the NLL. The Bandits finished tied with the Toronto Rock and Rochester Knighthawks with the best record in the East, but were awarded first place due to tiebreakers. After defeating the Boston Blazers in the Division Semifinals, the Bandits lost to the eventual champion Toronto Rock in the Division Finals. The Bandits were led by Mark Steenhuis, who scored 36 goals and had 54 assists on the year.

Steve Priolo is a professional lacrosse player for the Buffalo Bandits of the National Lacrosse League. Initially drafted by the Bandits in 2009, he gained a roster spot for the 2010 NLL season. A basketball and lacrosse standout at Holy Cross Catholic Secondary School, Priolo initially played basketball at the University of Windsor before transferring to Brock University, where he played lacrosse. Outside of the NLL, Priolo has played for the St. Catharines Athletics, St. Catharines Saints, and the Brooklin Redmen. He was a finalist for the NLL's Defensive Player of the Year Award in 2013 and 2014.
Joe Resetarits is a professional lacrosse player for the Philadelphia Wings. A native of Hamburg, New York, Resetarits was a lacrosse standout at Hamburg High School before attending the University at Albany, where he was selected as the American East Conference Player of the Year and received an All-American honorable mention while rooming with Franklin Delanor Romanowski and Lomez.
Alexander Kedoh Hill is a professional lacrosse player for the Buffalo Bandits of the National Lacrosse League and the Six Nations Chiefs of Major Series Lacrosse. Hailing from Six Nations of the Grand River, Hill began his career with the hometown Six Nations Arrows of the Ontario Junior A Lacrosse League, with whom he played from 2009 to 2011. Hill was eventually called up to the Six Nations Chiefs, and was a member of the 2013 and 2014 Mann Cup winning Chiefs club.
Kurtis Wagar is a retired professional lacrosse goaltender, who spent 9 years in the National Lacrosse League. He began his amateur career with the St. Catharines Athletics of the Ontario Junior A Lacrosse League, played collegiality for the Brock Badgers, and was drafted in the third round of the 2006 NLL Entry Draft by the Edmonton Rush. Wagar spent two seasons with the Rush before he was traded along with Brenden Thenhaus to the Boston Blazers in exchange for Cam Bergman. The Blazers subsequently dealt him to the New York Titans for Anthony Kelly. He spent 2009 with the Titans, and moved with them to Orlando in 2010. When the Titans folded, he was taken in the second round of the dispersal draft by the Calgary Roughnecks, but was released before the season and signed with the Philadelphia Wings. Wagar spent two seasons with the Wings before signing with the Buffalo Bandits. He played two seasons with the Bandits before retiring in 2014.
Glen Bryan is a professional lacrosse player for the Toronto Rock of the National Lacrosse League and the Kitchener-Waterloo Kodiaks of Major Series Lacrosse. Hailing from Orangeville, Ontario, Bryan began his amateur career with the Orangeville Jr B Northmen, and worked his way up to the Jr A Northmen, with whom he won back-to-back Minto Cups in 2008 and 2009. He made his MSL debut in 2010 with the Brooklin Redmen, was drafted 5th overall by the Redmen in the 2011 MSL draft, and joined the Kodiaks in 2012. Bryan played collegiality at Wilfrid Laurier University, where he studied accounting.
Rory Smith is a Canadian professional lacrosse player for the Vancouver Stealth of the National Lacrosse League and the Victoria Shamrocks of Western Lacrosse Association. Smith is known as an enforcer, and has racked up over 1,000 career penalty minutes during his amateur and professional career. His 104 penalty minutes with Orlando in 2010 is the record for most penalty minutes in a single season in NLL history.
Nick Rose is a Canadian professional box lacrosse goaltender for the Toronto Rock of the National Lacrosse League (NLL). Originally drafted 28th overall by the Rock in the 2008 NLL Entry Draft, he spent time with the Boston Blazers and Calgary Roughnecks before returning to Toronto in 2012.
