David Graeme Farrant (born 1 August 1960) is a former New Zealand first-class cricketer who played for Canterbury in the 1980s. He is the younger brother of Anthony Farrant. [1]

Farrant was on the New Zealand under-20s (Brabin) cricket team in 1979–1980. His son, Matthew Farrant, is also a cricketer and played for Canterbury at the under-19 level. [2]

Hagley Oval is a cricket ground in Hagley Park in the central city of Christchurch, New Zealand. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1867, when Canterbury cricket team hosted Otago cricket team. Canterbury used the ground infrequently from then through until the 1920s, but hardly stopped during World War I.

The England cricket team toured New Zealand in March 1955 and played a two-match Test series against the New Zealand team. The series was part of a longer tour which began in September 1954 and included a match in Colombo against Ceylon and a full tour of Australia during which the England team retained The Ashes, their first series win in Australia for 22 years. The tour was organised by the Marylebone Cricket Club and the English team played under the name MCC in non-Test matches.
