David Graeme Farrant (born 1 August 1960) is a former New Zealand first-class cricketer who played for Canterbury in the 1980s. He is the younger brother of Anthony Farrant. [1]

Farrant was on the New Zealand under-20s (Brabin) cricket team in 1979–1980. His son, Matthew Farrant, is also a cricketer and played for Canterbury at the under-19 level. [2]

Grenville David "Gren" Alabaster is a former New Zealand first class cricketer for Otago, Canterbury and Northern Districts. A winner of the New Zealand Cricket Almanack Player of the Year Award in 1972, Alabaster was a right-arm off-break bowler. The Kent Women cricket team is the women's representative cricket team for the English county of Kent. They play their home matches at County Cricket Ground, Beckenham, as well as the St Lawrence Ground and Polo Farm, both in Canterbury. They are captained by Tammy Beaumont and are coached by David Hathrill. They are the most successful side in both the Women's County Championship and Women's Twenty20 Cup, with 8 and 3 titles respectively. They are partnered with the regional side South East Stars.

Hagley Oval New Zealand cricket ground

Hagley Oval is a cricket ground in Hagley Park in the central city of Christchurch, New Zealand. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1867, when Canterbury cricket team hosted Otago cricket team. Canterbury used the ground infrequently from then through until the 1920s, but hardly stopped during World War I.

Dudley Park is a cricket ground in Rangiora, Canterbury, New Zealand. The first recorded match on the ground came when North Canterbury played Central Otago in the 1963/64 Hawke Cup. A single Youth One Day International was played there in 1987 when New Zealand Young Cricketer played Australia Young Cricketers. The ground first held a List A match in the 1980/81 Shell Cup when Canterbury played Central Districts. Canterbury played six further List A matches there, the last of which came in the 1996/97 Shell Cup. Dudley Park has also hosted first-class matches, the first of which saw Canterbury play Wellington in the 1984/85 Shell Trophy. Fourteen further first-class matches have been held there, the last of which saw Canterbury play Wellington in the 2002/03 State Championship. The ground has twice held the final of the Shell Trophy, with Canterbury winning on both occasions.

An English team raised by the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) toured New Zealand between December 1960 and March 1961 to play four first-class matches against New Zealand. MCC also played against each of the main provincial teams – Auckland, Central Districts, Northern Districts, Canterbury, Otago and Wellington – and 12 matches against minor association teams.
