David H. Warren is an academic administrator and educator. He served as the acting chancellor at the University of California, Riverside from March, 2002 through July 2002. He bridged the tenures of Raymond L. Orbach and France Córdova.

The University of California, Riverside, is a public research university in Riverside, California. It is one of the 10 general campuses of the University of California system. The main campus sits on 1,900 acres (769 ha) in a suburban district of Riverside with a branch campus of 20 acres (8 ha) in Palm Desert. In 1907 the predecessor to UCR was founded as the UC Citrus Experiment Station, Riverside which pioneered research in biological pest control and the use of growth regulators responsible for extending the citrus growing season in California from four to nine months. Some of the world's most important research collections on citrus diversity and entomology, as well as science fiction and photography, are located at Riverside.

Raymond L. Orbach American physicist

Raymond Lee Orbach is an American physicist and administrator. He served as Under Secretary for Science in the United States Department of Energy from 2006 until 2009, when he was replaced by Steven E. Koonin. Until his resignation in December 2012, in the wake of a conflict-of-interest controversy involving the geologist Charles G. Groat, Orbach was Director of the Energy Institute at the University of Texas at Austin.

Warren is a professor emeritus in the Department of Psychology at UCR. He also served as the dean of the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences and the chair of the department of psychology. [1]

He earned his degree from Yale in 1965, then completed his Ph.D. in child development from the University of Minnesota. [1]

Mark Anthony Wade is a retired American professional basketball player. A 5-foot-11-inch (1.8 m) and 160-pound (72.6 kg) point guard, Wade played college basketball at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas where in 1986–87 he set the NCAA record for assists in a season, with 406. He spent the 1987–88 NBA season with the Golden State Warriors, and played one game for the Dallas Mavericks in 1989–90.

The University of California Citrus Experiment Station is the founding unit of the University of California, Riverside campus in Riverside, California, United States. The station contributed greatly to the cultivation of the orange and the overall agriculture industry in California. Established February 14, 1907, the station celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2007.

Herman Spieth was an American zoologist and university administrator. He was the first chancellor of the University of California, Riverside from 1956 to 1964. Originally hired as a professor in the Life Sciences Department, he was responsible for administering UCR's change from a liberal arts college to a major research university. Spieth Hall at UCR is named after him.

The College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (CHASS) at the University of California, Riverside (UCR) can trace its history to the founding undergraduate institution at UCR, the College of Letters and Science, which first opened in 1954. It is today a vibrant and critical research and teaching oriented community. Kennon Marshall Sheldon is a professor of psychological sciences at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. His research is in the areas of well-being, motivation, self-determination theory, personality, and positive psychology. In 2002 he was a recipient of a Templeton Foundation "Positive Psychology" prize and in 2014 received the Ed and Carol Diener award for mid-career achievement in personality psychology. Timothy Peter White is the seventh chancellor of the California State University. He took office in December 2012. He was the eighth chancellor of the Riverside campus of the University of California from 2008 to 2012.

UC Riverside Highlanders baseball

The UC Riverside baseball team is the varsity intercollegiate baseball team of the University of California, Riverside, located in Riverside, California, United States. The program has been a member of the NCAA Division I Big West Conference since the start of the 2002 season. The program's home venue is the Riverside Sports Complex, located on the university's campus. Alumnus and former major leaguer Troy Percival was named the program's head coach ahead of the 2015 season. The program has won two Division II national championships. It has appeared in four Division II College World Series and 12 NCAA Tournaments. It has won eight California Collegiate Athletic Association championships and one Big West Conference championship. As of the start of the 2013 Major League Baseball season, 16 former Highlanders have appeared in Major League Baseball.

Jane Close Conoley is the president of California State University, Long Beach. She is the former interim chancellor of the University of California, Riverside; she took on the chancellorial duties on December 31, 2012 following the resignation of former chancellor Tim White. Prior to being selected as the interim chancellor for UC Riverside, Conoley was the dean of the Gevirtz Graduate School of Education at the University of California, Santa Barbara from January 2006 to December 30, 2012, a position which she publicly stated she intended to resume upon the completion of her tenure as interim chancellor of UC Riverside. On January 29, 2014, Conoley was announced as the new president of California State University, Long Beach.

John W. Olmsted (1903–1986) was an American Rhodes scholar and historian of early modern Europe. He taught history at University of California, Los Angeles for 24 years and served as faculty representative to the Pacific Coast Conference for seven years.
