David Kirk (born 1955 in Ohio) is an American illustrator and author of children's books. He is the creator of the Sunny Patch brand, which includes a variety of products marketed by Target from 2003 to 2010, and thereafter by Melissa and Doug. The brand spun off from his Miss Spider series of children's books published by Scholastic. [1]

Kirk's work has been adapted into a children's television show called Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends . David created several other toy companies, including Ovicular Toyworks and Hoobert Toys.

It aired on Treehouse TV in Canada on March 31, 2003. The special was based on David Kirk's book series of the same name, as well as the Sunny Patch brand of toys that Kirk designed. The special features well-known celebrity voices including US actress Brooke Shields as the voice of Miss Spider, Rick Moranis as the voice of Holley, and Tony Jay as the voice of Spiderus Reeves.

It was based on David Kirk's Sunny Patch brand and the accompanying Miss Spider book series. In Canada, the show aired on Treehouse TV. In the United States, it aired on Nick Jr. 44 episodes were produced.

Weston Woods Studios is a production company that makes audio and short films based on well-known books for children. It was founded in 1953 by Morton Schindel in Weston, Connecticut, and named after the wooded area near his home. Weston Woods Studios' first project was Andy and the Lion in 1954, and its first animated film was The Snowy Day in 1964. In 1968, Weston Woods began a long collaboration with animator Gene Deitch. Later, they opened international offices in Henley-on-Thames, England, UK (1972), as well as in Canada (1975), and in Australia (1977). In addition to making the films, Weston Woods also conducted interviews with the writers, illustrators, and makers of the films. The films have appeared on children's television programs such as Captain Kangaroo, Eureeka's Castle, and Sammy's Story Shop. In the mid-1980s, the films were released on VHS under the Children's Circle titles, and Wood Knapp Video distributed these releases from 1988 to 1995.

The block primarily aired on Cartoon Network in countries such as Australia, India, and Southeast Asia. Tiny TV also ran on Boomerang in Latin America and Southeast Asia, as well as on Pogo TV in India. Tiny TV also went under the name of "小小TV" in Taiwan, and "Lilletoon" in the Scandinavian regions.
