Derlis David Meza Colli (born 15 August 1988), simply known as David Meza, is a Paraguayan professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for Saudi club Ohod.

Career

Meza has played the 2008–09 season with PAS Giannina of Beta Ethniki on loan from his club Atromitos. On 3 September 2013 David, and his brother César, signed for Azerbaijan Premier League side Inter Baku on a 1-year contract. [1] Meza signed a new 1-year contract with Inter Baku in May 2014. [2] On 31 August 2015, Meza signed a one-year contract with another Azerbaijan Premier League side, Gabala. [3] On 20 December 2015, Meza was released from his Gabala contract six-months early. [4]

On 6 January 2016, Meza signed for Cerro Porteño. [5]

On 30 July 2017, Meza signed a one-year contract with Neftchi Baku. [6]

On 27 July 2019, Meza was announced as a member of Petrolul Ploiești squad for the 2019–20 season. [7]

On 16 July 2023, Meza joined Saudi First Division side Ohod. [8]

The Sumgayit 2013–14 season was Sumgayit's third Azerbaijan Premier League season. They finished 9th in the Premier League and they reached the Second Round of the Azerbaijan Cup where they were beaten by FK Baku. It is Agil Mammadov's first full season as manager.

The 2015–16 season was Gabala FK's 11th season, and their 10th in the Azerbaijan Premier League, the top-flight of Azerbaijani football. Domestically, Gabala finished 3rd in the Premier League for the third season in a row and reached the semifinals of the Azerbaijan Cup where they were defeated by Neftchi Baku. In Europe Gabala reached the group stages of the UEFA Europa League where they faced PAOK, Krasnodar and Borussia Dortmund before finishing bottom of the group.

The Inter Baku 2015–16 season is Inter Baku's fifteenth Azerbaijan Premier League season, and their first season under manager Zaur Svanadze. They will compete in the 2015–16 UEFA Europa League, entering at the first qualifying round stage, the Azerbaijan Cup and the League.

The Sumgayit FK 2015-16 season is Sumgayit's fifth Azerbaijan Premier League season, and sixth season in their history. They will participate in the Azerbaijan Cup as well as the League.

The 2016–17 season is Gabala FK's 12th season, and their 11th in the Azerbaijan Premier League, the top-flight of Azerbaijani football. As well as participating in the Premier League, Gabala will take part in the Azerbaijan Cup and UEFA Europa League.

The Zira FK 2016–17 season is Zira's second Azerbaijan Premier League season, and third season in their history. It is their second season with Adil Shukurov as manager, during which they will participate in the Azerbaijan Cup as well as the League.

The Inter Baku 2016–17 season was Inter Baku's sixteenth Azerbaijan Premier League season, and their second season under manager Zaur Svanadze. They finished the season in third place, and were knocked out of the Azerbaijan Cup at the semifinal stage by Gabala.

The 2017–18 season was Gabala FK's 13th season, and their 12th in the Azerbaijan Premier League, the top-flight of Azerbaijani football. Gabala finished the season in second place, 16 points behind champions Qarabağ. In the Azerbaijan Cup were runners-up for the second year in a row, losing to Keşla 1-0 in the final whilst they also reached the Third qualifying round of the Europa League before being knocked out by Panathinaikos.

The Zira FK 2017-18 season wa Zira's third Azerbaijan Premier League season, and fourth season in their history. It is their first full season with Aykhan Abbasov as manager, during which they finished the season in fourth place, qualifying for the UEFA Europa League for the second year in a row. Zira were also knocked out of the Azerbaijan Cup by Neftchi Baku at the Quarterfinal stage whilst also reaching the Second qualifying round of the Europa League before defeat by Astra Giurgiu.

The Neftchi Baku 2017–18 season is Neftchi Baku's 26th Azerbaijan Premier League season. Neftchi will compete Azerbaijan Premier League and in the 2017–18 Azerbaijan Cup.

The 2018–19 season was Gabala's 14th season in the Azerbaijan Premier League, the top-flight of Azerbaijani football. The club participated in the Premier League, finishing fourth. They also entered the Azerbaijan Cup, defeating Sumgayit 1-0 to win their first title. They also played in the Europa League, where they were eliminated by Progrès Niederkorn in the first qualifying round.

The 2019–20 season was Gabala FK's 15th season, and their 14th in the Azerbaijan Premier League, the top-flight of Azerbaijani football. Gabala will also take part in the Azerbaijan Cup and the Europa League. Gabala finished the season in 8th position due to the premature end of the season and were spared relegation, whilst they were due to play Zira in the Semifinal of the Azerbaijan Cup before its cancellation. In the Europa League Gabala were knocked out by Dinamo Tbilisi in the Second Qualifying Round.

The Neftçi 2021–22 season was Neftçi's 31st Azerbaijan Premier League season. Neftchi will compete in the Azerbaijan Premier League, the Azerbaijan Cup and the UEFA Europa Conference League.
