David John Narcizo (born May 6, 1966, in Newport, Rhode Island) is an American musician and graphic designer, primarily known for his work as the longtime drummer for Throwing Muses.
Narcizo played drums on Tanya Donelly's Lovesongs for Underdogs , Sleepwalk, Beautysleep , and Whiskey Tango Ghosts solo recordings, also performing some of the drum programming on Kristin Hersh's Sky Motel solo album.
After the first dissolution of Throwing Muses following the group's 1996 Limbo album, Narcizo started an electronic instrumental project called Lakuna, including the participation of wife Melissa "Misi" Narcizo, Bernard Georges, Belly's Tom Gorman, Kristin Hersh, and Frank Gardner. Lakuna's Castle of Crime CD was released in 1999 on the 4AD Records label and on Throwing Muses' own boutique label, called Throwing Music.
In the early 2000s, Narcizo performed with Throwing Muses again at a couple of fan events called "Gut Pageants." His trademark steady beat and agility with complex rhythms were highlighted in a self-titled Throwing Muses reunion album release in 2003, which the group supported with concert appearances in Europe and major U.S. cities that year.
Narcizo began increasingly focusing his time on his Newport graphic design firm, called "Lakuna, Inc.," co-owned with his wife, also a graphic artist. Because his new business responsibilities made it impractical for Narcizo to continue touring full-time with Throwing Muses after the 2003 concerts were completed, he helped Hersh find a drummer for her emerging 50 Foot Wave band concept. Narcizo had designed some of Throwing Muses' past album artwork; he continues with his Lakuna, Inc., graphics firm to help design album covers for bands like 50 Foot Wave, while providing print media design and promotional services for businesses in Newport.

50FOOTWAVE is an American alternative rock band, formed in 2003. The band is fronted by Kristin Hersh, who writes the group's songs with collaborative efforts from the other group members in composing and arranging the music. The group's name is a reference to both an illustration and the term for the 50-foot sound wave of the lowest F tone audible to the human ear. The band sometimes abbreviates its name as L'~, using the Roman numeral for 50.
Tanya Donelly is an American Grammy Award-nominated singer-songwriter and guitarist based in New England who co-founded Throwing Muses with her step-sister Kristin Hersh. Donelly went on to co-form the alternative rock band The Breeders in 1989, before leaving to front her own band Belly in 1991. By the late 1990s, she settled into a solo recording career, working largely with musicians connected to the Boston music scene.
Lakuna was an electronic instrumental project begun by drummer David Narcizo after Throwing Muses first split up following their 1996 Limbo album. Lakuna first released a 12-inch called So Happy and then a 1999 full-length album called Castle of Crime. Narcizo provided drums, drum programming, and keyboards on all the tracks. The album's guest musicians included Bernard Georges on bass, Kristin Hersh on guitar loops, Belly's Tom Gorman on bass, Melissa "Misi" Narcizo on piano and keyboards, and Frank Gardner on bass and bass synthesizer. Narcizo employed tape loops and samples from obscure, vintage music to achieve the album's ambient-styled instrumental sounds. Lakuna recorded on the 4AD and Throwing Music labels.

Gary Smith is an American entrepreneur, record producer, and artist's manager, known for his work recording albums by alternative rock musicians since the mid-1980s at Fort Apache Studios. Smith, who is sole owner of the studio, first became a partner co-owning the studio business in the late 1980s, moving it from Cambridge, Massachusetts, to Bellows Falls, Vermont, in 2002.
Vaughan Oliver was a British graphic designer based in Epsom, Surrey. Oliver was best known for his work with graphic design studios 23 Envelope and v23. Both studios maintained a close relationship with record label 4AD between 1982 and 1998 and gave distinct visual identities for the 4AD releases by many bands, including Mojave 3, Lush, Cocteau Twins, The Breeders, This Mortal Coil, Pale Saints, Pixies, and Throwing Muses. Oliver also designed record sleeves for such artists as David Sylvian, The Golden Palominos, and Bush.

Learn to Sing Like a Star is Kristin Hersh's seventh solo album and was released in the US on Yep Roc Records on the 23 January 2007 and on 4AD for the rest of the world on the 29 January. The album was produced by Kristin herself and mixed in Nashville by two-time Grammy winner Trina Shoemaker. It features her Throwing Muses bandmate David Narcizo on drums and with strings by the McCarricks. The album peaked at #27 on the US's Billboard Top Heatseekers Album Chart.
