David Rysdahl is an American actor. He is best known for starring in the fantasy drama film Nine Days (2020), the thriller film No Exit (2022) and the biographical thriller film Oppenheimer (2023).

Early life and career

Rysdahl was born to Gigi and Dr. Scott Rysdahl. He has two brothers and a sister. [1] He grew up in New Ulm, Minnesota, where he attended Cathedral High School. [2] After briefly working in public health in Guatemala, he became more interested in acting as a career. He was cast in a stage production of Hamlet at the Great River Shakespeare Festival in Winona, Minnesota. [3] [4]

After moving to New York, Rysdahl starred in short films. In 2018, he starred in Cathy Yan’s comedy-drama Dead Pigs . In 2020, he appeared in the fantasy drama film Nine Days , [4] and in 2022, he starred in the thriller No Exit . [3] [5] His other credits include the Netflix docuseries The Family, [6] episode 4, season 6 of Netflix's Black Mirror , season 5 of Fargo [7] and the indie feature The Land of Owls. [8] [ importance? ] He also plays American chemist Donald Hornig in Christopher Nolan's 2023 biopic Oppenheimer . [9] [10]

Personal life

As of February 2022, Rysdahl lives in Harlem. [3]

Rysdahl met actress Zazie Beetz at an acting workshop, and they began dating around 2014. [11] In May 2022 Vanity Fair reported that they had recently gotten engaged. [12] [13] They started a production company called Sleepy Poppy. [3] [14] The couple married in 2023. [15]

It stars Havana Rose Liu as a recovering drug addict who discovers a kidnapping in progress while stranded at a rest stop during a blizzard. Danny Ramirez, David Rysdahl, Dale Dickey, and Dennis Haysbert co-star as the four suspects while Mila Harris plays the victim. No Exit was released on February 25, 2022, on Hulu by 20th Century Studios. It received mixed reviews from critics, who categorized it as a "reasonably diverting" popcorn movie.
