David Young is an American keyboardist, composer, and recording artist. He is most well known for producing the soundtracks to the Sega CD video games Sonic CD , [1] Ecco: The Tides of Time , [2] and The Amazing Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin . [3]

Career with Sega

In 1993, Young began contributing audio and music to Sega video games. [4] [5] He was present for the formation of Sega Music Group and Sega Music Group Studios in San Francisco. [6] [7] Young was a frequent collaborator with composer/producer Spencer Nilsen, [8] who was director of Sega Music Group at the time. [9] He was involved in over a dozen different Sega titles from 1993–1996, composing, producing and engineering soundtracks for titles such as The Amazing Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin , [3] Sonic CD, [1] Ecco: The Tides of Time , [2] [10] Congo The Movie: The Lost City of Zinj , [11] NBA Live , NHL Live , and Wild Woody , [12] as well as many others.

The Sega CD, released as the Mega-CD in most regions outside North America and Brazil, is a CD-ROM accessory for the Mega Drive/Genesis designed and produced by Sega as part of the fourth generation of video game consoles. Sonic Gems Collection is a 2005 compilation of Sega video games, primarily those in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Player progress is rewarded with demos of other Sonic games, videos, and promotional artwork spanning the history of the Sonic franchise. Appaloosa Interactive was a corporation, founded in 1982 in Hungary, that produced video games, computer programs and television commercials during the 1980s and 1990s. Novotrade International was founded by Andras Csaszar and Stephen J. Friedman. Csaszar served as the company's president, while Friedman served as chief executive officer. Novotrade began operating branches in the United States in 1989, and was renamed Appaloosa Interactive in November 1996. That month, the company unveiled its 10-month-old Internet technologies division, Appaloosa Online. The company's headquarters were in Mountain View, California. Appaloosa was the parent company and owner of two software development companies in Budapest, Hungary. Appaloosa was known for its Ecco the Dolphin game series for Sega. Appaloosa also developed two Contra games on the PlayStation and Sega Saturn for Konami.

Marvel Games Video game publisher

Marvel Games is the publishing brand for video games based on Marvel properties, and is the video games division of Marvel Entertainment. Before the incorporation of Marvel Games, video games based on Marvel properties released between 1982 and 1985 were handled by Marvel Comics Group, with Marvel video games from 1986 to 1998 being handled by Marvel Entertainment Group, whilst video games based on Marvel properties prior to the incorporation of Marvel Games were handled directly by Marvel Enterprises.

Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin is a video game produced by Sega of America and developed by Technopop initially on the Mega Drive/Genesis. It was ported internally by Sega of America for the Master System and Game Gear consoles, the latter being published by Acclaim Entertainment through its Flying Edge division. An updated version was also released for the Sega CD under the name of The Amazing Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin.

Sony Imagesoft Inc. was an American video game publisher that operated from 1989 to 1995 and was located in California. It was established in January 1989 in Los Angeles, California, as a subsidiary of the Japan-based CBS/Sony Group (CSG) and initially named CSG Imagesoft Inc. Focus at the beginning was on marketing games exclusively for Nintendo consoles.

Spencer Nilsen is an American video game music composer. He is best known for his soundtracks to the Sega CD versions of Batman Returns, Ecco the Dolphin, Ecco: The Tides of Time, Jurassic Park, The Adventures of Batman and Robin and The Amazing Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin as well as the North American version of Sonic CD.

Sega Genesis Collection is a compilation of video games developed by Digital Eclipse and published by Sega for PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable. Ecco the Dolphin is a series of action-adventure video games developed by Appaloosa Interactive and published by Sega. They were originally developed for the Mega Drive/Genesis and Dreamcast video game consoles, and have been ported to numerous systems. The story follows the eponymous Ecco, a bottlenose dolphin, who fights extraterrestrial threats to the world. The games are known for their high difficulty level. Ecco was created by Ed Annunziata, who also produced Chakan: The Forever Man.

Edward Ettore "Ed" Annunziata is best known for the Ecco the Dolphin series, Kolibri for the Sega 32X, and as the voice of "Greg" in the Sega Saturn game Three Dirty Dwarves. Later he served as an Executive Producer for Nokia's N-Gage mobile phone and gaming device, helping create nearly a dozen multiplayer titles for the platform. One of them, Smallball Baseball, was one of the first microtransactions-based games targeting the US market. In 2006, he founded Twofish, Inc. with Lee Crawford and Sean Ryan.

<i>Sonics Ultimate Genesis Collection</i>

Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection is a compilation of video games developed by Backbone Entertainment and published by Sega for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The compilation features 48 Sega games which were previously released for the Sega Genesis, arcades and the Master System. It is the sequel to the Sega Genesis Collection released previously for the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable, but contains 16 more games.
