Daydream is the fourth studio album by South Korean boy group Highlight. It was released on March 21, 2022, by Around US Entertainment and distributed by Kakao Entertainment. [1] The album contains ten tracks, with the lead single sharing its name with the album. [2] Three versions were released, titled Before the Dream, In the Dream, and After the Dream. [1] [3] The album reached number 4 on the Gaon (now Circle) Album Chart.
On March 2, 2022, News1 announced that Highlight would be making a surprise comeback [ peacock prose ] in the same month, ten months after the release of their post-enlistment EP, The Blowing. [4] The news was later confirmed by Around US Entertainment on March 7 to be the group's first full album release following their rebrand to their current name Highlight, and their first full album in five years. [5] [6] Its release date was announced to be on March 21, 2022. The group also released a highlight film to showcase snippets of the ten tracks which were partially co-written by members Lee Gikwang and Son Dongwoon. [7]
Daydream is described to be a "medium tempo pop-dance song with lyrical vocals and a delicately tuned arrangement." [8] The lyrics are a confession of love that speak from the perspective of someone experiencing heartbreak, wanting to stay in their eternal daydream where they remain with their lover. Leader Yoon Dujun added that "[Daydream] goes well with spring. The lyrics are sentimental. It is a hybrid song that fulfills both moods." [2]

Highlight is a South Korean boy band formerly known as Beast. The band consists of four members: Yoon Doo-joon, Yang Yo-seob, Lee Gi-kwang, and Son Dong-woon. Originally a six-piece band, Jang Hyun-seung departed from the group in April 2016, and Yong Jun-hyung departed in March 2019. In late 2016, the group moved labels from Cube Entertainment to Around Us Entertainment and subsequently changed their name to Highlight in 2017.
Yong Jun-hyung, commonly known as Junhyung, is a South Korean singer-songwriter, rapper, record producer and actor. Junhyung rose to fame as a member of South Korean boy band Highlight, formed in 2009. He departed from Highlight in 2019, amidst the controversy of admitting to watch illegal videos, although the police stated that Junhyung was only considered as a witness at that point in time in the Burning Sun scandal.
