Yoon Doo-joon (born July 4, 1989), also known mononymously as Doojoon or Dujun, is a South Korean singer and actor. He is the leader of the South Korean boy group Highlight.
Yoon Doo-joon was born in Goyang, South Korea on July 4, 1989. [1] His dream of becoming a high school Physical Education teacher changed suddenly during his second year of high school after watching MTV's Big Bang Documentary. His parents and teachers did not agree with him at first, though he pleaded with them to register him for music school and he soon started auditioning to become a singer. [2]
Yoon then became a trainee of JYP Entertainment and was featured in the Mnet documentary Hot Blooded Men, a reality program that shows the preparation for their debut, with 2AM and 2PM, but he was eliminated along the course of the show. [3]
He then moved to Cube Entertainment and was featured as a rapper in AJ's "Wipe the Tears". [4] He later debuted as the leader of Beast. [4] Their journey leading up to debut was showcased in their MTV documentary MTV B2ST. [5]
Yoon graduated from Kyung Hee Cyber University in post-modern musicology. He attended Dongshin University as a student majoring in Broadcast Entertainment, under a full scholarship, along with three other members of Beast. [6] [7]
Yoon enlisted for his mandatory military service as ROK Army on August 24, 2018, [8] [9] and was discharged on April 10, 2020. [10]
Yoon debuted as a leader of Beast in 2009. [4] In 2016, he left label Cube Entertainment along with several other members. They have since reformed to promote as Highlight under Around Us Entertainment. [11]
Before his debut with Beast, Yoon auditioned for High Kick Through the Roof and was offered a role in the sitcom, but he turned it down to focus on his music career. [3] A month after his debut, he became a member of the reality-variety series Danbi, a segment part of MBC's Sunday Sunday Night line-up. [12] The show ended with its last broadcast on August 15, 2010. [13]
Yoon was then chosen to model on an advertisement for premium jeans brand Buckaroo along with Shin Se-kyung. [14] He was also featured for G.NA's song "I'll Back Off So You Can Live Better" music video along with fellow Beast member, Junhyung. [15]
Yoon debuted as an actor when he was cast in MBC's daily sitcom More Charming By The Day and All My Love. [16] On December 29, 2010, he was awarded with the Rookie Comedy Award from the 2010 MBC Entertainment Awards for his performance. [17]
In 2013, he featured in spy action drama Iris II . [18] The same year, he starred tvN's slice-of-life drama Let's Eat . [19] He reprised his role in the second season, Let's Eat 2 which aired in 2015. [20] [21] The same year, he starred in the MBC drama special Splash Splash Love. [22]

On April 13, 2020, it was announced that he would be a part of the cast of TvN variety show, 4 Wheeled Restaurant. [26]
On July 27, 2020, Yoon released his first solo mini album, Daybreak. [27]
On May 1, 2021, Highlight’s agency Around Us Entertainment announced, “Yoon Doojoon has been confirmed to appear in the drama There is No Goo Pil Soo, which will begin filming in July.” [28]

Lee Gi-kwang, known professionally as Gikwang or Kikwang, is a South Korean singer, songwriter and actor. He originally debuted as solo singer with the stage name AJ, releasing his first mini album First Episode: A New Hero on April 4, 2009. In October 2009, he debuted as the main dancer, visual and a lead vocalist of boy group Beast, which was renamed Highlight in February 2017.
Highlight is a South Korean boy band formerly known as Beast (Korean: 비스트). The band consists of four members: Yoon Doo-joon, Yang Yo-seob, Lee Gi-kwang, and Son Dong-woon. Originally a six-piece band, Jang Hyun-seung departed from the group in April 2016, and Yong Jun-hyung departed in March 2019. In late 2016, the group moved labels from Cube Entertainment to Around Us Entertainment and subsequently changed their name to Highlight in 2017.
Seo Hyun-jin is a South Korean actress and singer. Seo debuted as the vocalist of South Korean girl group M.I.L.K. in 2001 and continued until the group disbanded in 2003. She contributed songs as a solo artist after the group disbandment before she transitioned into acting in 2006.
Yoon Shi-yoon, also known professionally as Yun Si Yun, is a South Korean actor and television personality. He is best known for his leading roles in King of Baking, Kim Takgu (2010), My Cute Guys (2013), Hit the Top (2017), Grand Prince (2018) and Your Honor (2018), Nokdu Flower (2019), Psychopath Diary (2019–2020), and Train (2020). Yong Jun-hyung, known mononymously as Junhyung, is a South Korean singer-songwriter, record producer and actor. Junhyung rose to fame as a member of South Korean boy band Highlight, formed in 2009. He departed from Highlight in 2019, amidst the controversy of admitting to watch an illegally shared video, although the police stated that Junhyung was only considered as a witness at that point in time in the Burning Sun scandal.

Let's Eat 2 is a South Korean television series starring Yoon Doo-joon, Seo Hyun-jin and Kwon Yul. It aired on tvN from April 6 to June 2, 2015, for 18 episodes. This is the second season of 2013 Let's Eat series, with Yoon Doo-joon reprising his role as Goo Dae-young, who moves to Sejong City and befriends new neighbors and friends played by Seo Hyun-jin and Kwon Yul.

It aired on KBS2 from January 29 to March 20, 2018, every Monday and Tuesday at 22:00 (KST). A human romance drama that tells the story of a scripted top star becoming a radio DJ who never goes according to the script.

He came into prominence in KBS's 2017 legal drama Witch at Court and tvN's 2019 TV series The Crowned Clown. He also appeared in 2012 historical comedy film I Am the King. In 2022, he is cast in JTBC's drama Cleaning Up.
