Daye Jack is a Nigerian-American hip hop artist from Atlanta, Georgia. He is best known for his single "Hands Up" featuring Killer Mike which peaked at #14 on the Billboard Twitter Emerging Artists chart. [1]
Jack was born in Port Harcourt, the capital and largest city of Rivers State, Nigeria 1 February 1996. [2] He grew up in Atlanta. [3] His father was originally from Nigeria but grew up in California. [3] His father later returned to Nigeria to marry Jack's mother and then moved back to Atlanta. [3] Jack got involved in programming while in high school and went on to attend New York University. [3] It was during his time at NYU that he began his music career. [3]
Jack released his first mixtape, Hello World, at the age of 18 while attending NYU. [3] He released it on SoundCloud and was soon contacted by numerous blogs who asked him to submit new music. [4] Jack was contacted by producer Mike Elizondo and he flew to Los Angeles to perform some demos, eventually leading to a contract with Warner Bros. Records. [4] In 2015 he released the EP Soul Glitch under the Warner Bros. label. [5]
After the release of Soul Glitch, Jack collaborated with Killer Mike in 2015 for the release of the single Hands Up. [6] The video was released exclusively on Billboard which called it "emotionally charged" with a "powerful message of solidarity." [7] The video was released on the first day of Black History Month in 2016 [7] and the song peaked at #14 on the Billboard Twitter Emerging Artists chart. [1]
In addition to his collaboration with Killer Mike, Jack has worked with numerous other artists. [8] In 2015 he was featured on the song Expensive from Tori Kelly's album Unbreakable Smile. [6] Jack also sang background vocals for Ariana Grande's 2016 album Dangerous Woman. [8] In early 2016, Jack toured nationally with Pell on the Only in Your Dreams tour, [6] and also toured with Lukas Graham. [8] [9]
Jack released his first full-length project No Data in March 2017. [10]
Jack attributes his musical style to his family background and has been described as a "hip-hop singer." [3] He describes himself as making experimental hip-hop with rapping, singing, and speaking all being part of it. [3] Jack cites some of his influencers as being André 3000 and 50 Cent. [3]

John David Jackson, better known by his stage name Fabolous, is an American rapper. Raised in Brooklyn, he first gained recognition for his ability upon performing live on DJ Clue's Hot 97 radio show. Jackson then signed to Clue's record label Desert Storm Records, in a joint venture with Elektra Records. He rose to further prominence with his debut studio album Ghetto Fabolous (2001), which spawned the hit singles "Can't Deny It" and "Young'n ." Adopting a further commercially-oriented approach, his second album, Street Dreams (2003), was supported by the singles "Can't Let You Go" and "Into You" —both of which peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100.
Jonathan H. Smith, better known by his stage name Lil Jon, is an American rapper, record producer, and DJ. He was instrumental in the commercial breakthrough of the hip-hop subgenre crunk in the early 2000s and is often credited as a progenitor of the genre. He was the frontman of the crunk group Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz, with whom he has released five albums. In addition, Lil Jon served as a producer for most recordings by artists who popularized the genre; these include Pitbull, Too Short, E-40, Ludacris, Ciara, and Usher.
Radric Delantic Davis, known professionally as Gucci Mane, is an American rapper. He is credited, along with fellow Atlanta-based rappers T.I. and Jeezy, with pioneering the hip hop subgenre trap music for mainstream audiences during the 2000s. Donald Cannon is an American DJ, record producer, and record executive who served as Vice President of A&R at Def Jam Recordings from 2012 to 2018. With DJ Drama, he is the co-founder of the record label Generation Now, an imprint of Atlantic Records that has signed artists including Lil Uzi Vert and Jack Harlow. Furthermore, Cannon and DJ Drama are members of the Atlanta-based mixtape collective, Aphilliates Music Group.
Johnny Reed McKinzie Jr., better known by his stage name Jay Rock, is an American rapper from Los Angeles, California. Rock signed with local independent label Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) in 2005. He secured a major label joint venture deal with Warner Bros. Records and Asylum Records to release his 2008 debut single, "All My Life ". Failing to chart, the mergers fell through and Rock departed from both of the latter labels shortly after. He then signed with Missouri rapper Tech N9ne's label Strange Music in a joint venture deal with TDE in 2011.

Jeffery Lee Johnson Jr., better known by his stage name Roscoe Dash, is an American rapper. He is best known for his guest appearance alongside Wale on Waka Flocka Flame's 2010 single "No Hands," which peaked at number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and received diamond certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). He signed with Zone 4, Geffen, and Interscope Records to release his debut single, "All the Way Turnt Up", in January of that year, which peaked within the top 50 of the chart and preceded his debut studio album, Ready Set Go! He is best known for his 2014 single "Tuesday", which initially gained recognition following its remix with Canadian rapper Drake. After its release in August of that year, he signed with Drake's record label OVO Sound, an imprint of Warner Records that same month; the song was re-released by the label shortly after and subsequently peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. "Tuesday" also received a nomination Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards, and served as the lead single for his likewise re-issued self-titled debut extended play (2014), which moderately entered the Billboard 200. Saaheem Malik Valdery, better known as SahBabii, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter from Chicago, Illinois and moved to Atlanta, Georgia in his teens. His song, "Pull Up wit ah Stick" featuring Loso Loaded, gained widespread popularity after its release on his S.A.N.D.A.S. mixtape in 2017. SahBabii peaked at No. 8 on Billboard's Next Big Sound chart in July 2017.
Dominique Armani Jones, known professionally as Lil Baby, is an American rapper. He rose to prominence following the release of his 2017 mixtapes Harder than Hard and Too Hard, the former of which spawned his first Billboard Hot 100 entry with its lead single, "My Dawg."
