De-Wet Nagel (born 15 June 1985) is a South African actor, musician and composer.
Nagel's music career started after immigrating to South Africa in 1999, when he was still in school. He was a session musician in various bands and projects and started writing and teaching music. [1] He has performed and worked with local and international bands, including the Jesse Jordan Band, Akkedis, Heather Waters, Prime Circle, Chris Chameleon's boo! and Fokofpolisiekar. [2] [3]
In 2005, he started the music school Ultimate Drummers, which offers drum-kit and electric guitar lessons to high school students in affiliation with Trinity College London who sends examiners down to South Africa on a yearly basis to provide certificate exams to affiliated schools. [4]
In 2012, Nagel composed and performed the soundtrack to the short film Heartbeat. Instruments performed include drum-kit, guitar, piano, bass guitar and additional arrangements for strings. [5]

My Darkest Diary is a conceptual music project created by De-Wet Nagel with the aim to connect fans and musicians with charity and using music to better society.
"Every musician that manages to get airplay on the radio has a voice and it is in My Darkest Diary that they can use that voice to instill positive change in the world. The idea is for each musician or band to create a single track within My Darkest Diary to advocate a particular charity, organization or institution that they champion in changing our world and for fans to unite with their favorite artists in supporting that charity".
The single 'This World Has Lost Its mind' is De-Wet's protest against drugs. The single cover is a photo taken by Miss Hepburn Photography where De-Wet used actual water based ink in his eyes to reflect his stance on the severity in which recreational drug use should be viewed. Immediately after the photo shoot De-Wet started coughing ink and blood and ink started leaking out of his nose due to the fact that it had started running through his sinuses after seeping into his tear ducts. His acting career started in 2010, when he started acting in short films for film students. After joining an extras agency, he appeared in feature films, including Lost Boys: The Thirst , where appeared as a featured vampire. [1]
In 2012, after being optioned for the role of Jack in the short film Heartbeat, [5] Nagel approached the director Jozua Judah with the aim to compose an original soundtrack for the film. After Nagel enlisted the help of Meryl Van Noie, they created the soundtrack. [7]
In 2013, Nagel made his debut on the theatre stage portraying the character Andrew in the play February 14th, at the Artscape Theatre Centre in Cape Town [8] [9] Critics hailed his performance as "sensational" [10] stating that "he is definitely one actor to look out for. [10]
In 2015 De-Wet Nagel [11] will helm the role of Frans du Toit (the ripper rapist) [12] in the real life documentary [13] based on the story of Alison Botha who was raped, stabbed 37 times and had her throat slit before being left for dead on the outskirts of Port Elizabeth, an event she survived and later wrote about in the book "I Have Life" [14] Alison is currently in pre-production. In 2017, Nagel had an uncredited role as a Taheen Technician in The Dark Tower . [16]

Toad the Wet Sprocket is an American alternative rock band formed in Santa Barbara, California, in 1986. The band at the time consisted of vocalist/guitarist Glen Phillips, guitarist Todd Nichols, bassist Dean Dinning, and drummer Randy Guss, who stopped touring in 2017 and left the band in 2020. Guss was replaced by drummer Josh Daubin, who supported them as their drummer on tours from 2017 through 2022 and also played drums on their 2021 album "Starting Now". Most recently, Carl Thomson took Daubin's place and has been drumming for Toad the Wet Sprocket on tour since 2023. They had chart success in the 1990s with singles that included "Walk on the Ocean", "All I Want", "Something's Always Wrong", "Fall Down", and "Good Intentions".
Alan Price is an English musician who first found prominence as the original keyboardist of the English rock band the Animals. He left the band in 1965 to form the Alan Price Set; his hit singles with and without the group include "Simon Smith and the Amazing Dancing Bear", "The House That Jack Built", "Rosetta" and "Jarrow Song". Gary Malcolm Wright was an American musician and composer best known for his 1976 hit songs "Dream Weaver" and "Love Is Alive". Wright's breakthrough album, The Dream Weaver (1975), came after he had spent seven years in London as, alternately, a member of the British blues rock band Spooky Tooth and a solo artist on A&M Records. While in England, he played keyboards on former Beatle George Harrison's triple album All Things Must Pass (1970), so beginning a friendship that inspired the Indian religious themes and spirituality inherent in Wright's subsequent songwriting. His work from the late 1980s onwards embraced world music and the new age genre, although none of his post-1976 releases matched the same level of popularity as The Dream Weaver.
Francis Albert Lai was a French composer, noted for his film scores. He won the 1970 Oscar for Best Music, Original Score and the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score for the film Love Story. Gustavo Alfredo Santaolalla is an Argentine composer and musician. Known for his minimalist approach to composing, he rose to fame for creating the scores for Brokeback Mountain (2005) and Babel (2006), for which he received two Academy Awards for Best Original Score in consecutive years. Santaolalla also gained recognition for his work on The Last of Us game series, composing the 2013 title and its 2020 sequel. He returned to reprise his themes and co-compose the score for the 2023 television adaptation.

Bridie is the founder and artistic director of Wantok Musik Foundation; a not-for-profit music label that records, releases and promotes culturally infused music from Indigenous Australia, Melanesia and Oceania. In 2019 he received the Don Banks Music Award.
Cold Mountain is the soundtrack for the Civil War film Cold Mountain (2003) starring Jude Law, Nicole Kidman, and Renée Zellweger. The album was nominated for two Grammy Awards and was produced by T Bone Burnett. Two songs were nominated for Academy Awards: "You Will Be My Ain True Love", written by Sting, and "The Scarlet Tide", written by Burnett and Elvis Costello. Both songs were sung by Alison Krauss.
Ivan Král was a Czech-born American composer, filmmaker, guitarist, record producer, bassist, and singer-songwriter. He worked across genres including pop music, punk rock, garage rock, rock, jazz, soul, country and film scores. His music has been recorded by such artists as U2, Téléphone, Patti Smith, Iggy Pop, David Bowie, Simple Minds, and John Waite, among others, and he won three times at the Anděl Awards. He died of cancer in 2020, aged 71.

My Darkest Days was a Canadian rock band based in Peterborough, Ontario, consisting of lead vocalist Matt Walst, bassist Brendan McMillan, drummer Doug Oliver, guitarist Sal Costa, and keyboardist Reid Henry. They were discovered by Chad Kroeger of Nickelback, who signed them to his record label, 604 Records. They are best known for their 2010 single "Porn Star Dancing".
Dillon Hart Francis, also known by his alter ego DJ Hanzel, is an American electronic music producer and DJ. By deejaying and collaborating, Francis helped to popularize the moombahton genre, and in 2012 he adapted it further into moombahcore and EDM trap, giving the music a harder sound, as heard on his extended play (EP), Something, Something, Awesome. (2012). He expanded into EDM genres with his debut studio album, Money Sucks, Friends Rule (2014), which peaked at number two on the Dance/Electronic Albums chart, and shifted to Latin music with his second album, Wut Wut (2018), a Spanish-language set that won a Latin Grammy and a Latin American Music Award. His 2018 single, "Sexo", peaked at number 43 on the Billboard Latin Airplay chart.
"Baby Mine" is a song from the 1941 Disney animated feature Dumbo. The music is by Frank Churchill, with lyrics by Ned Washington. Betty Noyes recorded the vocals for the original film version. In the film, Dumbo's mother, Mrs. Jumbo, an elephant locked in a circus wagon, cradles her baby Dumbo with her trunk while this lullaby is sung. It is also the last appearance of the circus animals.
Mark Derek Foster is an American musician, singer, and songwriter, best known as the lead singer of the band Foster the People. After struggling to create a successful band in his early twenties, Foster finally had his big break as the founder and frontman of Foster the People in 2009, which he formed alongside his two friends Mark Pontius and Cubbie Fink. The band has since released four studio albums: Torches in 2011, Supermodel in 2014, Sacred Hearts Club in 2017 and Paradise State of Mind in 2024.
Tamika Scott is an American singer-songwriter, actress, and ordained minister. She rose to fame in the early 1990s as a member of Xscape. Scott sang lead on the group's singles "Love on My Mind", "Who Can I Run To", and "The Arms of the One Who Loves You", the latter two which peaked in the Billboard Hot 100 and became earn platinum and gold certification by the Recording Industry Association of America. During the group's hiatus, Scott ventured into acting. She appeared in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns in 2004.
