Guanajuato is a municipality in central Mexico and the capital of the state of the same name. It is part of the macroregion of the Bajío. It is located in a narrow valley, which makes its streets narrow and winding. Most are alleys that cars cannot pass through, and some are long sets of stairs up the mountainsides. Many of the city's thoroughfares are partially or fully underground. The historic center has numerous small plazas and colonial-era mansions, churches, and civil constructions built using pink or green sandstone. The city historic center and the adjacent mines were proclaimed a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988.

Los Tigres del Norte are a norteño band from San Jose, California. Originally founded in the small town Rosa Morada in the municipality of Mocorito, Sinaloa, Mexico, with sales of 32 million albums, the band is one of the most recognized groups in the genre, due to its long history and its successes within the Mexican community in the diaspora. The band is famous for its political corridos, some of which have been censored, even in its own country. The band is the only Mexican group to win 7 Grammy awards and 12 Latin Grammys. In addition, the band has made 40 films alongside the Almada brothers among other well-known Mexican actors.
Vicente Fernández Gómez was a Mexican ranchera singer, actor and film producer. Nicknamed "Chente", "El Charro de Huentitán", "El Ídolo de México", and "El Rey de la Música Ranchera", Fernández started his career as a busker, and went on to become a cultural icon, having recorded more than 100 albums and contributing to more than 30 films. His repertoire consisted of rancheras and other Mexican classics.

These genres are collectively referred to as "regional Mexican" under the Latin music umbrella. This chart features only singles or tracks and like most Billboard charts, is based on airplay; the radio charts are compiled using information tracked by from Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems (BDS), which electronically monitors radio stations in more than 140 markets across the United States. Written and produced by Joan Sebastian, and co-produced by Jesús Rincón, the album is a successful mariachi record. It has sold two million copies worldwide, and is one of the biggest-selling albums by Fernández. It spawned five singles: "Estos Celos", "La Derrota", "Un Millón de Primaveras", and the title track, the latter of which was used as the main theme to the Mexican telenovela Fuego En La Sangre, which brought the album wider exposure and helped it to stay in the charts for over two years. Los Caminantes are a Mexican grupero band hailing from San Francisco del Rincón, Guanajuato. Originally called Los Caminantes Aztecas, the group was formed in San Bernardino County, California by brothers: Agustín, Brígido, Horacio and Bernardo Ramírez in 1976. In 1982, Martín Ramírez, the youngest brother of the band, joined the group replacing Bernardo on keyboards. They later acquired Humberto Navarro as their drummer. The band released their debut album Supe Perder in 1983 on Luna Records which included the hits, "Supe Perder," "Para Que Quieres Volver" and "Dime Si Me Quieres."
Canciones Que Duelen is the fourth studio album by regional Mexican recording artist Espinoza Paz. It was released by Disa Records on September 27, 2011, one year after the release of his previous studio album. Espinoza Paz worked as producer and songwriter of all the tracks included. The album entered at number one in the Billboard's Latin Albums and Regional Mexican Albums charts, while peaking atop the albums chart in Mexico. Joyas Prestadas consists of a double album with eleven cover songs, each recorded with two distinct styles of music. The first half being recorded in pop, while the second was recorded in the Regional Mexican subgenre of banda. The album was produced by Enrique Martinez. According to Rivera, the songs she chose to cover were those she was enamored with while working as a cashier in a record store.
