Elegantly Wasted is the tenth studio album by Australian rock band INXS. It was released on 15 April 1997, and is the final album recorded with lead singer Michael Hutchence before his death in November that same year.

The group's name is derived from the first letters of the three first members from 1998: Karen Damen, Kristel Verbeke, and Kathleen Aerts.

Dance Gavin Dance is an American post-hardcore band from Sacramento, California, formed in 2005. It consists of vocalist Jon Mess, lead guitarist Will Swan, clean vocalist and rhythm guitarist Andrew Wells, and drummer Matthew Mingus. The band formerly included lead vocalists Jonny Craig, Kurt Travis, and Tilian Pearson, and the lineup has changed numerous times since their inception. Swan and Mingus are the only band members who have appeared on every studio album.

Kristel Philemon Charlotte Verbeke is a Flemish singer, actress and host. She is most known for being a member of the first K3 group, from 1998 until 2015. In 2015 she became the manager of the new K3, remaining in this position until 2017. Since then, Verbeke focused on TV producing and acting.

The album is the first K3 album released featuring the new line-up: with Josje Huisman, who was found via a television contest called K2 zoekt K3, instead of Kathleen Aerts, who had left the group in March 2009. Its lead single, "Something", also has elements of swing jazz with big band arrangements. Lyrically, the album references the concepts of love, courage and hope.
