On Down the Line is the fourth album released by country music artist Patty Loveless. Recorded in Nashville, Tennessee during December 1989/January 1990, it was the follow-up to her breakthrough album, Honky Tonk Angel.
Cowgirl's Prayer is the seventeenth studio album by American country artist Emmylou Harris, released on September 28, 1993 by Warner Bros. Records. Coming immediately after 1992's live acoustic At the Ryman album, Cowgirl's Prayer is a collection of similarly subdued material. Released at a time when older artists were being dropped from country radio playlists, the album received little airplay, despite positive reviews, and its relative commercial failure is said to have served as a catalyst for Harris' decision to change course with the harder edged sound of her subsequent work, beginning with 1995's rockish Wrecking Ball, thus rendering Cowgirl's Prayer Harris' last mainstream country album.
Brand New Dance is an album which Emmylou Harris released on October 16, 1990. Produced by Richard Bennett and Allan Reynolds, the album mixed a rather eclectic collection of covers, including Bruce Springsteen's "Tougher Than the Rest", and Dave Mallett's "Red, Red Rose". Though it sold reasonably well, it was Harris' first studio album in fifteen years to yield no top forty country singles, and marked the beginning of a commercial decline for the singer, which would ultimately lead her to redirect her music away from mainstream country, a few years later.
Bluebird is an Emmylou Harris album from 1989, which merged a number of eclectic songs with polished, country music production. It included her most recent top-ten country-charting single, "Heartbreak Hill". The album enjoyed renewed interest in 2004 when The Sopranos introduced its fifth season with "Heaven Only Knows."
Cimarron is a 1981 Emmylou Harris album that, like its predecessor, Evangeline, was composed mostly of outtakes from other recording sessions that had not fit into any of Harris' other albums. As a result, critics at the time complained that the album was "choppy" and lacked a unifying sound. Nonetheless, the album did well on the U.S. country charts, and featured three top-ten country singles: "Born to Run", "If I Needed You", and "Tennessee Rose." It was nominated for a Grammy in 1982 for Best Country Vocal Performance, Female. In 2000, Eminent Records issued Cimarron for the first time on CD, with new liner notes and a bonus track, "Colors of Your Heart."
Songbird: Rare Tracks & Forgotten Gems is the name of a 2007 box set of songs personally selected by Emmylou Harris: "I've selected not greatest hits, but personal favorites: that, with a few exceptions-have never appeared on any other compilations, but were important gems in the string of pearls that each album strives to become. Also included are special collaborations, unreleased live and demo tracks, as well as contributions to tribute projects, which I may now gather into this fold.”
Passing Through is the sixteenth studio album released by American country music singer Randy Travis. It is his fourth album for Word Records. The album produced two singles on the Billboard country charts: "Four Walls" at #46 and "Angels" at #48. "That Was Us" was previously recorded by Tracy Lawrence on his 2001 self-titled album.
Lying to the Moon is the debut album of American country music singer Matraca Berg. It was released in 1990 via RCA Records Nashville. The album accounted for the singles "Baby, Walk On", "The Things You Left Undone", "I Got It Bad", and "I Must Have Been Crazy". Berg co-wrote all ten of the tracks.
Especially for You is the eleventh studio album released by country music artist Don Williams. It was released in 1981. Three singles were released from the album which all reached the top ten. These were "Miracles" (#4), "If I Needed You" (#3) and "Lord, I Hope This Day Is Good" (#1). The album peaked at #5 in the U.S. and reached #109 on the Billboard 200. This album, paired with his previous album, I Believe in You, were re-released on one CD in 1989.
Find My Way Home is the second album by Kieran Kane and his last one for Atlantic Records before starting his own label, Dead Reckoning Records, with fellow musicians, Kevin Welch, Harry Stinson, Tammy Rogers and Mike Henderson.
Six Months, No Sun is the fourth studio album by Kieran Kane. It's the second album on Dead Reckoning Records, which is the label he established in 1994 with musicians Kevin Welch, Mike Henderson, Tammy Rogers, and Harry Stinson. He wrote all the songs in the album apart from two songs, which are his covers of "I Wonder Where You Are Tonight" and "What a Wonderful World".
Western Beat is the second studio album by Kevin Welch, as Kevin Welch @nd The Overtones, released in 1992 on Reprise Records. The Blue Chair is the fifth solo album by Kieran Kane, his third for Dead Reckoning Records, the label founded by Kane in 1994 along with fellow musicians Kevin Welch, Mike Henderson, Tammy Rogers, and Harry Stinson. Robert Wooldridge reviewed The Blue Chair on Country Standard Time website favorably, stating "Though unlikely to bring Kane the commercial success he enjoyed with The O'Kanes, this release reinforces Kane's reputation as one of today's best alt.-country singer-songwriters."
Shadows on the Ground is the sixth solo studio album by Kieran Kane. The album was Kane's fourth solo album for Dead Reckoning Records, the label which he founded in 1994 along with fellow musicians Kevin Welch, Mike Henderson, Tammy Rogers, and Harry Stinson. This album was recorded live at Moraine Studio in Nashville, TN on July 5 & 6, 2002. Charlene Blevins of Paste magazine writes, "With Shadows on the Ground, Kane doesn’t exactly come full circle so much as he colors in the sphere of his career with a harmonious rainbow."
Lost John Dean is the second album by the trio, Kieran Kane, Kevin Welch & Fats Kaplin. Hal Horowitz of AllMusic writes "The recording is clean, clear and crisp, with each instrument defined under the vocals making a good album even better."
The Speed of Love is the third solo album by Tammy Rogers, released April 6, 1999. Jason Ankeny's biography of Tammy Rogers on AllMusic mentions that she was a member of Patty Loveless' backing band, which she followed with a stint backing Trisha Yearwood before becoming one of the first members of Kieran Kane's Dead Reckoning label.
