Dean E. Chynoweth (born October 30, 1968) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey defenceman who played in the National Hockey League for the New York Islanders and the Boston Bruins. Drafted 13th overall by the Islanders in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft, Chynoweth played 241 regular season games in 10 NHL seasons, scoring 4 goals and 18 assists for 22 points and clocked up 667 penalty minutes. He was also the head coach of the WHL's Seattle Thunderbirds. He served as the general manager and head coach for another WHL franchise, the Swift Current Broncos, from 2004 to 2011. Chynoweth was formerly an assistant coach with the New York Islanders.
Chynoweth is also the son of Ed Chynoweth, a respected former hockey executive who was on the selection committee of the Hockey Hall of Fame and was the longtime president of the WHL. Ed Chynoweth died on April 22, 2008, of cancer aged 66. Chynoweth is an ancient Cornish name. [1]
On June 26, 2012, Chynoweth was named head coach of the American Hockey League's Lake Erie Monsters. [2]
On July 17, 2018, Chynoweth was hired as an assistant coach for the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes
On July 12, 2021, Chynoweth was hired as an assistant coach for the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs
On June 17, 2024, Chynoweth was hired as an assistant coach for the NHL’s Winnipeg Jets [3]

Richard Gary Bowness is a Canadian former professional ice hockey coach and player. He was selected in the second round, 26th overall, by the Atlanta Flames in the 1975 NHL Amateur Draft. Bowness has also played for the Detroit Red Wings, St. Louis Blues, and the original Winnipeg Jets. As a coach, Bowness has also served as head coach for Boston Bruins, Ottawa Senators, New York Islanders, Phoenix Coyotes, Dallas Stars, the original Winnipeg Jets, and the current Winnipeg Jets. He likewise held the position of assistant coach roles with the Coyotes, Vancouver Canucks, Tampa Bay Lightning and Stars.
Kelly Michael Buchberger is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player. He played for several National Hockey League teams from 1986 to 2004. As a coach, he has been an assistant for the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League (NHL) and a head coach of the Tri City Americans of the Western Hockey League (WHL).
Daniel Brian Bylsma is an American professional ice hockey coach and former player who is the head coach for the Seattle Kraken of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was previously head coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Buffalo Sabres in the NHL, as well as an assistant coach for the Detroit Red Wings, and head coach of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Coachella Valley Firebirds of the American Hockey League (AHL). He also was the former head coach of the United States men's national ice hockey team. Bylsma won the Stanley Cup with the Penguins in 2009, just four months after being promoted to Pittsburgh's head coaching position.
The Sutter family, originally from Viking, Alberta, Canada, are one of the most famous families in the National Hockey League (NHL). Six brothers: Brent, Brian, Darryl, Duane, Rich and Ron, reached the NHL in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Four brothers, Brent, Brian, Darryl and Duane, have gone on to become coaches and general managers as well, with Brian, Brent and Darryl, each having a stint as head coach of the Calgary Flames. All brothers played for either the Chicago Blackhawks or the St. Louis Blues at one point or another. A seventh brother named Gary is said by his brothers to have been the best hockey player of all seven boys. Rather than making his living as a hockey player, Gary stayed home to work on the family farm, as Rich remarked on an episode of the Canadian sports show Off the Record.
David John Lowry is a Canadian ice hockey coach and former professional player. He is currently an assistant coach with the Seattle Kraken of the National Hockey League (NHL). He played in the NHL from 1985 to 2004.
Ryan Huska is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player who is the head coach for the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League (NHL). Huska was drafted in the third round, 76th overall, in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft by the Chicago Blackhawks. In 1997–98, he played his only NHL game with the Blackhawks against the Calgary Flames. He played 5:51 in eight shifts. As a junior player with the Kamloops Blazers of the Western Hockey League (WHL), he won three Memorial Cups in 1992, 1994, and 1995.

Noël has close to 30 years experience coaching with his most recent coaching position being head coach of the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League in the 2014–15 season. James Andrew Hiller is a Canadian professional ice hockey coach and former player who is the head coach for the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL). Hiller played 63 games in the NHL with the Los Angeles Kings, Detroit Red Wings, and New York Rangers, while spending time in the American Hockey League (AHL) and International Hockey League (IHL). He finished his career playing overseas in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga in Germany and Italian Serie A. Upon retiring, Hiller began a coaching career in the junior leagues.
