Deane Alexander Williams (born 23 September 1996) is a British professional basketball player for Baskets Oldenburg of the Basketball Bundesliga. He played college basketball for Augusta University [1] where he was named the Peach Belt Co-Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year in 2019. In 2021, he was named the Úrvalsdeild Foreign Player of the Year.

College career

Williams played college basketball for Augusta University from 2015 to 2019. He left the school eleventh on its all-time scoring list and finished in the top five in schools history in blocks and rebounds. [2]

Club career

In the summer of 2019, Williams signed with Úrvalsdeild karla club Keflavík. [3] [4] During his first season, he averaged 15.6 points and 9.9 rebounds before the final game of the regular season and playoffs were canceled due to the 2020 coronavirus pandemic in Iceland. In April 2020, he re-signed with Keflavík. [5] [6] Following the season he was named the Úrvalsdeild Foreign Player of the Year. [7]

In July 2021, Williams signed with LNB Pro B club Saint-Quentin. [8]

On June 28, 2022, Williams signed with Telekom Baskets Bonn of the German Basketball Bundesliga. [9]

On July 18, 2023, he signed with Baskets Oldenburg of the Basketball Bundesliga. [10]

National team career

Williams played for the Great Britain national U-20 team in 2016. [11]

On 18 March, the rest of the season was canceled. Fjölnir was relegated and Stjarnan was named divisional champions for having the best record at the time of the cancelation but no national champions would be named for the season.

She won the Icelandic championship and the Icelandic Cup in 2013 as a member of Keflavík. In 2019, she was named to the Úrvalsdeild Domestic All-First Team.

Amin Khalil Stevens is an American professional basketball player for Ironi Kiryat Ata of the Israeli Basketball Premier League. Before his professional career, he played college basketball for Florida A&M. In 2013 he won the Slovak Basketball Cup with MBK Rieker Komárno. In 2017, he was named the Úrvalsdeild Foreign Player of the Year after leading the league in scoring and rebounds.

The 2022–23 Úrvalsdeild karla was the 72nd season of the Úrvalsdeild karla, the top tier men's basketball league in Iceland. The season started on 6 October 2022 and ended on 18 May 2023. Tindastóll won its third title, and its first in 39 years, by defeating Valur 3–2 in the Finals.
