Deborah Taylor Tate was a Commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). She was nominated by President George W. Bush on November 9,2005,for the remainder of the term expiring June 30,2007. She was unanimously confirmed by the United States Senate on December 21,2005,and sworn in as FCC Commissioner on January 3,2006. She has spoken out in favor of Digital Rights Management and suggested TV may be a contributing factor in childhood obesity. [1]
In April 2007,the Center for Public Integrity reported that Tate,a Nashville,Tennessee native,received talking points on how to best oppose the pending merger between satellite radio firms XM and Sirius from a representative of Clear Channel,a terrestrial radio company opposing the deal. [2]
On December 30,2008,the FCC announced that Tate would be resigning from office. [3] In June 2009,President Obama nominated Mignon Clyburn to take her place.
Satellite radio is defined by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU)'s ITU Radio Regulations (RR) as a broadcasting-satellite service. The satellite's signals are broadcast nationwide,across a much wider geographical area than terrestrial radio stations,and the service is primarily intended for the occupants of motor vehicles. It is available by subscription,mostly commercial free,and offers subscribers more stations and a wider variety of programming options than terrestrial radio.

Opie and Anthony was an American radio show hosted by Gregg "Opie" Hughes and Anthony Cumia that aired from March 1995 to July 2014,with comedian Jim Norton serving as third mic from 2001. The show originated in 1994 when Cumia took part in a song parody contest on Hughes' nighttime show on WBAB on Long Island,New York. After subsequent appearances,Cumia decided to pursue a radio career and team with Hughes to host their own show.
The Verge is a Sirius XM Canada channel featuring new and emerging rock bands from Canada. The channel is produced in Toronto,Ontario for the entire SiriusXM platform. The channel's former names included Unsigned,and (un)Signed,which indicated that the channel played a combination of signed and unsigned bands. A few American songs,such as Hard Sun by Eddie Vedder are played on the channel. In August 2015,The Verge was added to the Sirius channel lineup.

WSIX-FM is a radio station licensed to serve Nashville,Tennessee. Owned by iHeartMedia,the station broadcasts a country music format. WSIX's studios are located in Nashville's Music Row district and the transmitter site is in Forest Hills,Tennessee.
Pop2K is a commercial-free all-2000s radio station that is broadcast on Sirius XM Radio. It is located on channel 10,and Dish Network 6010 and 099-10. It plays a range of top 40 hits from 2000 to 2009. Originally,some music would come from the late 1990s. The channel is also used for XM's annual pop music chronology,IT. Starting in late 2009,the station started to play more deeper cuts and not the popular hits from the decade,to give it a more or less nostalgic flavor that the decades stations have. By 2010,no new 2010s music has been played unless it is left over from 2009,making it a 2000s-only station. By December 18,2009,Mediabase ceased reporting the channel's playlist.
Oprah Radio was a talk radio channel programmed by Harpo Productions' radio division,and was signed exclusively for Sirius XM Satellite Radio. The channel left satellite radio on December 31,2014.

Kids Place Live is a channel on Sirius XM Radio that is the result of a merger between XM Kids and Kids Stuff. Sirius was a result of the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) approving the acquisition of XM Satellite Radio Holding,Inc. by Sirius Satellite Radio,Inc. on July 29,2008,17 months after the companies first proposed the merger. Until February 9,2010,DirecTV carried this on channel 868,but dropped Sirius XM programming in favor of going to MusicTap. The channel name was changed on 2008-11-12.

Primosphere Limited Partnership was one of four companies bidding for Satellite Digital Audio Radio Service,or SDARS,licenses in the United States. The service would have been an advertisement-supported digital audio service with an emphasis on serving music genres that had lost exposure in the terrestrial radio market during that period,such as classic jazz,"beautiful music," "pop standards," and swing music. Two dedicated public radio talk channels were also proposed along with traditional talk radio channels.

Mina SayWhat Llona is an American radio and TV personality. Currently on air on Philadelphia's urban radio station WUSL - Power 99. Mina grew up in Union City and Jersey City,New Jersey. She started her radio career at the age of 18 while living in New York and attending Syracuse University. She graduated cum laude from Syracuse University with a dual major in Television,Radio and Film from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communication and Political Science. She also minored in Music Business. Mina worked for Sirius XM Radio for four years prior to working at Power 99. She is also the voice of the weather for 103.5 The Beat in Miami. She is an ambassador for the Philadelphia 76ers' community outreach program,"Sixer's Strong",and works with the 76ers' Latino youth basketball league "La Liga Del Barrio",which is open for boys and girls ages 6 to 17 and consists of 28 teams.
