Deepak Lather (born 25 March 2000), is an Indian weightlifter who won the bronze medal in the men's 69 kg weight class at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia. [2] He is pursuing Business, India. [3] He is the youngest person to hold an Indian national record in weightlifting. He is a Naib Subedar in Bombay Sappers in the Indian Army. [4]
His father Bijender Lather was a farmer by profession. Deepak used to work with his father's farmland since childhood. That grooms his strength and made him a natural weightlifter. At the age of 16, in National Championship, he broke the national record in Men's 62 kg category. [5] He joined Indian Army through Sports Quota and was initially trained for diving. But after being trained for few months, he was re-trained for weightlifting. [6]
India has competed in all except four editions of the Commonwealth Games; starting at the second Games in 1934. India has also hosted the games once, in 2010. The most successful event for India in these games is shooting.
Ravi Kumar Katulu is an Indian weightlifter from Odisha. At the 2010 Commonwealth Games, he won a gold medal in the Men's 69 kg (152 lb) weightlifting category.

Jeremy won silver medal in Asian weightlifting championship. At the 2019 World Weightlifting Championships, Lalrinnunga finished at 21st rank at the Men's 67 kg event. He won gold in the 2022 Commonwealth Games, in the 67 kg category, with a game record lift of 140 kg in snatch and 160 kg in clean and jerk.

He won a silver medal at the 2019 World Wrestling Championships in the freestyle 86 kg category, where Hassan Yazdani of Iran, a wrestler that Punia idolises, won the final by walkover. Punia's silver medal secured him a place in the 2020 Summer Olympics. He was born in Jhajjar district, Haryana. He faced Yazdani again in the 86 kg final of 2022 Asian Games, but lost 10-0 in a one-sided match.
