The Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival is the largest documentary festival in North America. The event takes place annually in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Earthrise is a 2018 documentary by Emmanuel Vaughan-Lee. The film tells the story of the first image captured of the Earth from space in 1968, as recalled by the Apollo 8 astronauts. The film premiered at Tribeca Film Festival on April 21, 2018 and had its online premiere on the New York Times Op-Docs and the PBS Series, POV, on October 2, 2018. In 2018, it won the Audience Award at AFI DOCS and won Best Documentary Short at Raindance Film Festival. He worked on The Square (2013) and The Great Hack (2019); the former was the first Egyptian film to earn an Academy Award nomination and went on to win three Emmy Awards, while the latter got nominated for an Emmy and a BAFTA Award. In 2020, he produced and directed The Vow, an HBO documentary series about the self-improvement group, NXIVM. In 2022, he produced and directed Flight/Risk for Amazon Studios, revolving around whistleblowers at Boeing.

Liturgy of Anti-Tank Obstacles is a 2022 US-Ukrainian 12-minute experimental documentary film directed by Dmytro Sukholytkyy-Sobchuk, about Ukrainians who temporarily changed their profession to be useful in Ukraine's war with Russia. The return to documentary filmmaking for the director was an act of service to the state, creating counterarguments for the perspective.
Who I Am Not is a 2023 documentary film exploring what it means to be intersex in a binary world, directed by Tunde Skovran. It is her directorial debut. The documentary is produced by Andrei Zincã, and the executive producer is Oscars,Emmy,GLAAD Vanguard Award- winner Patricia Arquette. Greenwich Entertainment acquired rights to the film.
Porcelain War is a 2024 documentary film directed by Brendan Bellomo and Slava Leontyev following the experience of Ukrainian artists as they face the Russian invasion of Ukraine. It won the 2024 Sundance Festival Documentary Grand Jury Prize.
