Denny Jacobs

Dennis Jacobs (born November 8, 1937) was an American politician.

Born in Rock Island County, Illinois, Jacobs received his bachelor's degree in business administration and political science from Augustana College. From 1987 until 2005, Jacobs served in the Illinois State Senate and was a Democrat. He lives in East Moline, Illinois. Jacobs served on the East Moline City Council and on the Rock County Board. He also served as the county auditor. Jacobs also served as mayor of East Moline. His father Oral Jacobs served in the Illinois House of Representatives and his son Mike Jacobs also served in the Illinois Senate. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]

Villa de Chantal Historic District was a national recognized historic district located in Rock Island, Illinois, United States. The property was designated a Rock Island Landmark in 1994, and it was listed as a historic district on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005. Its local landmark status was removed on November 12, 2007. It was removed from the National Register in 2012. The Villa de Chantal was a Catholic girl's boarding and day school operated by the Sisters of the Visitation. The school closed in 1978 and the building was largely destroyed in a fire in 2005. The property now houses the Rock Island Center for Math & Science of the Rock Island-Milan School District #41.

The Dispatch–Argus is a daily morning newspaper in Davenport, Iowa and circulated primarily throughout the Illinois side of the Quad Cities — Moline, East Moline, Rock Island and Rock Island County, but also for sale in retail establishments on the Iowa side of the Quad Cities — Davenport and Bettendorf. The Dispatch is circulated in and around Moline while The Rock Island Argus is circulated in and around that city. The two are essentially the same newspaper, only with different front covers. They have a combined circulation of about 25,000.

U.S. Route 67 (US 67) is a component of the United States Numbered Highway System that connects Presidio, Texas, to Sabula, Iowa. In Illinois, it serves the western region of the state known as Forgottonia, named for the lack of regional transportation and infrastructure projects. The highway begins its path through the state by crossing the Clark Bridge over the Mississippi River from Missouri at Alton and heads northward through Jerseyville and Jacksonville before it crosses the Illinois River at Beardstown. The northern half of the route serves Macomb and Monmouth before it enters the Quad Cities. It leaves the state at Rock Island by crossing the Rock Island Centennial Bridge over the Mississippi River into Davenport, Iowa.
