Boland is a first-class cricket team that nominally represents the Boland region, in the South African province of Western Cape, in the CSA Provincial Competitions. The team is selected and supported by the Boland Cricket Board (BCB) and plays its home games at Boland Park in Paarl. At organisational level, the BCB is responsible for the administration and development of cricket in the region and among its primary functions are management and promotion of the Boland team. The current BCB was founded in 1992 as a merger between the Boland Cricket Union and an earlier Boland Cricket Board.
David James Millns is a first class cricket umpire and English former professional cricketer who played for Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, Leicestershire County Cricket Club, Tasmania and Boland. Millns was a fast bowler, and a lower order batsman who was part of two championship winning sides with Leicestershire, in 1996 and 1998.
Denys Laurence Hobson is a former South African first-class cricketer. Hobson played as a right-handed batsman and legbreak bowler for Eastern Province and Western Province. His career lasted from 1970–71 to 1984–85. He was born at Port Elizabeth in 1951.
The Howth gun-running was the smuggling of 1,500 Mauser rifles to Howth harbour for the Irish Volunteers, an Irish nationalist paramilitary force, on 26 July 1914. The unloading of guns from a private yacht during daylight hours attracted a crowd, which prompted police and military forces to intervene. A riot ensued and the attempt to seize the weapons was unsuccessful. As the King's Own Scottish Borderers returned to barracks, they were accosted by a mob at Bachelors Walk, who threw stones and exchanged insults with the soldiers. In an event later termed the Bachelor's Walk massacre, the soldiers shot into the crowd, resulting in the deaths of four civilians and the wounding of at least 38.

Scott Michael Boland is an Australian international cricketer. A right-arm fast-medium bowler, he also plays domestically for Victoria and the Melbourne Stars. In March 2019, he was named the Sheffield Shield Player of the Year by Cricket Australia. Boland is one of a handful of Indigenous Australians to be selected to play for Australia at international level and, as of December 2021, is only the second male Aboriginal player to have played Test cricket for Australia, after Jason Gillespie. He was a member of the Australian team that won the 2023 ICC World Test Championship final.

Ziyaad Abrahams is a South African cricketer. He made his Twenty20 debut for Boland against Eastern Province in the 2016 Africa T20 Cup on 24 September 2016. Prior to his T20 debut he was named in South Africa's squad for the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He made his List A debut for Boland in the 2016–17 CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge on 23 October 2016. He made his first-class debut for Boland in the 2016–17 Sunfoil 3-Day Cup on 27 October 2016.
The 2016–17 CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge was a List A cricket competition that took place in South Africa from 9 October 2016 to 2 April 2017. The competition was played between the thirteen South African provincial teams and Namibia. The tournament was played in parallel with the 2016–17 Sunfoil 3-Day Cup, a first-class competition which featured the same teams.

Nicholas Richard Hobson is an Australian cricketer who represents the Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League. He made his Twenty20 debut for the Perth Scorchers against the Sydney Thunder on 24 January 2019 during the 2018-19 Big Bash League season. He made his List A debut on 2 March 2021, for Western Australia in the 2020–21 Marsh One-Day Cup.
