Setauket-East Setauket, more commonly known as the Setaukets, is a census-designated place (CDP) in Suffolk County, New York, on the North Shore of Long Island. As of the 2010 United States Census, the CDP population was 15,477. The CDP encompasses the hamlets of Setauket and East Setauket. It was founded in 1655, the first settlement in what would become the Town of Brookhaven.

Stony Brook Sports Complex is a multi-purpose complex located in Stony Brook University, Stony Brook, NY. The Complex houses the Stony Brook Arena on the west end, the Pritchard Gymnasium, a 25 yard long swimming Pool, an athletic performance center and many other athletic facilities within. Currently, the Stony Brook Seawolves basketball and volleyball programs home games are played in the Complex, specifically in the Pritchard Gymnasium. The Stony Brook Arena on the west end is currently undergoing $20 million renovation. During this renovation period, the Pritchard Gymnasium will be used to host the basketball and volleyball games.
The Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium is the main stadium for Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York, United States. Construction began in 2000 at a cost of approximately $22 million. With a capacity of 12,300 people, it is the largest outdoor facility in Suffolk County. The stadium is home to the Division I Stony Brook Seawolves and their football, men's soccer, women's soccer, men's lacrosse, and women's lacrosse teams.

Joe Nathan Field is a baseball field on the campus of Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York, United States. It is also referred to as the Stony Brook Baseball Field. The field is home to the Stony Brook Seawolves baseball team of the NCAA Division I America East Conference. It is located at the northern end of the school's athletics complex. The facility was known as Seawolves Field through the 2002 season, when its name was changed to University Field. In 2011, the stadium was rededicated for then-Minnesota Twins pitcher and Stony Brook alumnus Joe Nathan after Nathan's $500,000 gift made extensive renovations possible. As part of the renovations, a FieldTurf surface was installed.
Stony Brook Reservation is a woodland park in Boston and Dedham, Massachusetts, a unit of the Metropolitan Park System of Greater Boston, part of the state park system of Massachusetts. It was established in 1894 as one of the five original reservations created by the Metropolitan Park Commission. The park is served by the Stony Brook Reservation Parkways, a road system that was entered into the National Register of Historic Places in 2006.
The Simons Center for Geometry and Physics is a center for theoretical physics and mathematics at Stony Brook University in New York. Stony Brook is a major watercourse, now almost entirely covered, in the city of Boston, USA. It runs through a culvert for 7.5 miles, along almost its entire length; despite being underground, it is the largest tributary stream of the lower Charles River. It originates at Turtle Pond in the Stony Brook Reservation; it flows through Hyde Park, Roslindale, Jamaica Plain, and Roxbury. James D. Fiore Jr. was the Director of Athletics at Stony Brook University from 2003 to 2013. Fiore was fired from Stony Brook amid allegations of sexual harassment, misappropriation of university resources, and various forms of employment discrimination on November 19, 2013. He had been named the Director of Athletics on July 23, 2003.

The Seawolves competed in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) as first-year members of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). This was the team's eighth season under the helm of Chuck Priore. They played their home games at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium in Stony Brook, New York and attempted to build on their second straight appearance in the FCS playoffs but missed the playoffs after a 3–5 CAA, 5–6 overall record.
Thomas Brenton is an American basketball player. He is a 6'5" power forward who was named the 2013 Lefty Driesell Award winner, denoting him the CollegeInsider.com national defensive player of the year. He was also named the 2012–13 America East Conference Player of the Year, becoming just the second player from Stony Brook University to be honored as such. In July 2013 he signed his first professional contract with Link Tochigi Brex in the B.League.
Arie E. Kaufman is an Israeli-American computer scientist best known for his work in volume visualization and virtual reality. Dr. Kaufman is Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Computer Science at Stony Brook University, where he is also Director of the Center for Visual Computing (CVC), and Chief Scientist at the Center of Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology (CEWIT). He has an H-Index of 72 and is currently the ninth most cited researcher in the world working in the area of visualization.
The 2018 Stony Brook Seawolves football team represented Stony Brook University in the 2018 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The Seawolves competed as sixth-year members of the Colonial Athletic Association with Chuck Priore as the head coach for his 13th season. They played their home games at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium in Stony Brook, New York. They finished the season 7–5, 5–3 in CAA play to finish in a three-way tie for third place. They received an at-large berth to the FCS Playoffs, where they lost in the first round to Southeast Missouri State.
