Deportes Salvador Colom (known commonly plainly as Salvador Colom) is a Puerto Rican sporting goods retailing company. The company has been in business for six decades. [1] It was established during 1951. [2]
At one time during their history, Deportes Salvador Colom was one of the largest sporting goods selling companies in Puerto Rico as they had a presence in many strip shopping centers and malls across the island. There were stores in cities like Bayamon, Caguas, Ponce, San Juan and others. The dawn of the internet age and economic downturns in the United States meant that by the 2010s, the company had closed most of its shopping center locations and concentrated on internet only sales from their headquarters in Guaynabo.
By 2018, the company began to reestablish itself as a large, brick and mortar operation and open stores at places such as San Patricio Plaza in Guaynabo, [3] [4] Puerto Nuevo [1] and other places.
Another economical downturn hit the company during 2021, this time attributed to the Covid-19 pandemic as many sporting competitions were cancelled in Puerto Rico. [5]

The Justas de Atletismo y Festival Deportivo de Puerto Rico —better known as Las Justas Intercolegiales or simply as Las Justas — is an intercollegiate sports competition held annually in Puerto Rico where Puerto Rican colleges and universities compete against each other in different sports. The event is sponsored by the Liga Atlética Interuniversitaria de Puerto Rico (LAI). The event usually include competitions in softball, basketball, beach volleyball, judo, table tennis, swimming, cheerleading, women's football, and athletics.
The Festival Nacional de la Quenepa is a cultural celebration that takes place every year in Ponce, Puerto Rico. The festival centers around the genip fruit, the city's official fruit. The celebration lasts three days and takes place over a weekend. It is generally held on the second weekend of August, but occasionally during a weekend in September. It is sponsored by the Oficina de Desarrollo Cultural of the Ponce Municipal Government.

Centro del Sur Mall is a shopping mall in Ponce, Puerto Rico. At the time of its inauguration in 1962, it was Puerto Rico's largest mall and “the most modern mall in the Caribbean.” It is located at the intersection of Puerto Rico routes PR-163 and PR-1. Its original building cost was $2,500,000. It has been enlarged several times; including in 1991, in 2005, and again in 2010; this last time to accommodate the megastore Burlington.
Segundo Cardona FAIA is a Puerto Rican architect and developer. His work has been recognized by the American Institute of Architects (AIA), by the Colegio de Arquitectos y Arquitectos Paisajistas de Puerto Rico as well as by the International Union of Architects. Fundación Biblioteca Rafael Hernández Colón is a gubernatorial library and museum that records the political life of three-term governor of Puerto Rico, Rafael Hernández Colón. It was founded in 1992 and in September 2015 it moved to its current location at the southeast corner of Calle Mayor and Calle Castillo in Ponce, Puerto Rico, in the Ponce Historic Zone.
