The Derby Motor Cars Ltd. was a Canadian automobile built in Saskatchewan between 1924 and 1927. Company principal Louis Arsenault believed that with a booming wheat trade in the Prairies, customers and investors would support a car company. [1] Arsenault opened an office for Derby Motors in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in early 1924 [1] , following the dissolution of Winnipeg Motor Cars Ltd. in fall 1923. [2]
The car was in fact an early example of badge engineering. Rather than build cars, Arsenault imported American built Davis cars, changed the nameplates to "Derby" and added "Derby" tire covers. [3] Conversion of the cars took place in the former Marshall tractor factory in Saskatoon. [3] The Derby used a Continental six-cylinder engine, and came in four different models:
According to surviving company records, 31 cars were sold before the venture folded in 1927 [3] , with original plan of building 50. [5]

The Otomo was a Japanese automobile built by Mr. Hayataya Toyokawa from 1924 to 1927 at the Hakuyosha Ironworks in Tokyo. It was meant to build upon his experimental Ales cars of 1921. Otomo offered an air-cooled 944 cc four-cylinder light car, available as two- or four-seat tourer or saloon (sedan), or as a van. This was joined in 1926 by a water-cooled 24 hp model. During this time, Otomo was one of only two Japanese automakers, joined by the Japanese established Gorham Automobile Company, financed by American aircraft engineer William R. Gorham. The remnants of the Gorham Automobile Company became the Nissan Motor Company Ltd. The car found it difficult to compete with Ford Model T's being manufactured at Yokohama, and Chevrolet Capitols being built at Osaka, and the company was integrated with other smaller Japanese automobile manufacturers. The 1923 Great Kantō earthquake also disrupted the local economy, with manufacturing resources greatly affecting business operations.

London Motors was a Canadian automobile company located in London, Ontario. The company was formed by William Stansell, who was previously involved with the production of the Brock car in Amherstburg, Ontario. In 1921 Stansell raised $75,000 to form London Motors Limited, with a factory located at King and Ridout Streets. Prototypes were ready by the autumn of 1921. The London Six was an impressive vehicle featuring wooden disc wheels, pointed windscreen and a Herschell-Spillman 6 cylinder engine. The engine was tilted down at the rear, providing a lower drive shaft and reducing universal joint strain. The aluminium body made the car very light, allowing a top speed of 85 mph to be reached.
