The club is based in Derriaghy, County Antrim, was formed in 1982 when the long-established Derriaghy Cricket Club decided to add a football section. It joined the Lisburn League before entering the Amateur League in 1987. Its home ground is Seycon Park in Derriaghy. The club also has a 2nd XI in Division 3B of the NAFL and a Youth Academy.
Albert van der Merwe is a South African-born Irish cricketer. Van der Merwe is right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm off break and who played international cricket for Ireland. He was born in Bellville, Cape Province. He was educated at Huguenot High School, Wellington, Cape Province. Van der Merwe captained the North West University (Pukke) to their maiden SA University title in 2001. He was also part of the 2001 side that won the South African National Club Championships. Van der Merwe has played cricket for Irish club sides Derriaghy, The Hills and YMCA CC. Van der Merwe announced his retirement from international cricket in 2013. He is currently head coach of Leinster Lightning, one of 3 interprovincial teams in the Irish Domestic First Class set up.
Pembroke Cricket Club was founded in 1868 and is located at Sydney Parade, Park Avenue, just outside the old village of Sandymount in the prosperous Dublin suburb of Ballsbridge. The grounds were part of the lands of the Pembroke Estate from which the club took its name. In 1983, the club bought out the ground from the Estate and now is the joint owner in conjunction with Monkstown Football Club.

Founded in 1932, and playing out of Woodlands Playing Fields, Éire Óg Doire Achaidh is the local club for the parishes of St Anne's and Our Lady Queen of Peace, providing Gaelic football and Hurling teams for the children of Derriaghy, Finaghy, Dunmurry, Black's Road, Glengoland and Cloona. The club has teams from Primary 1 level all the way through to senior level.
