DesignTO (known as the Toronto Design Offsite Festival until 2019) is a nonprofit arts organization that is most well known for the DesignTO Festival, a design week showcasing Canadian designers held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. [1] [2] Each year, the DesignTO Festival features over 100 free exhibitions and events. [3] [4]
In 2015, the festival added an annual self-produced exhibition component entitled White Out, TO DO Talks, located at various locations around the city, and Outside the Box, an exhibition where correspondents across the Americas curate original works and then ship them to Toronto for exhibition. Outside the Box was also exhibited in New York City for Wanted Design NYC in May 2015. [5] The alternative design exhibition, Come Up To My Room , is one of the events under the TO DO umbrella. In 2013, the festival added an awards component, the TO DO Awards, presented by Herman Miller, with jury and people's choice categories, and the TO DO Festival opening party, a celebration of the launch of festival week. The juror's choice for "Best in Festival" that year went to Mason Studio for "Cloud Sourcing", [9] a design installation that consisted of cloud-like objects made from tissue paper.
The Toronto International Film Festival is one of the most prestigious and largest publicly attended film festivals in the world, founded in 1976 and taking place each September. The Ontario Science Centre is a science museum in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Tsai Ming-liang is a Malaysian filmmaker based in Taiwan. Tsai has written and directed 11 feature films, many short films, and television films. He is one of the most celebrated "Second New Wave" film directors of Taiwanese cinema. His films have been acclaimed worldwide and have won numerous awards at festivals. In 1994, Tsai won the Golden Lion at the 51st Venice International Film Festival for the film Vive L'Amour.

Tatiana Gabriele Maslany is a Canadian actress. She rose to prominence for playing multiple characters in the science-fiction thriller television series Orphan Black (2013–2017), which won her a Primetime Emmy Award (2016), two Critics' Choice Awards, and five Canadian Screen Awards (2014–2018). Maslany is the first Canadian to win an Emmy in a major dramatic category for acting in a Canadian series.
ACMI, formerly the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, is Australia's national museum of screen culture including film, television, videogames, digital culture and art. ACMI was established in 2002 and is based at Federation Square in Melbourne, Victoria.
InterAccess is a Canadian artist-run centre and electronic media production facility in Toronto. In August of1981, Bill Perry and Ric Amis started "Telidon at Trinity Square Video", with a "Norpak Telidon Information Provider System" given to Bill by Bell Canada. The project was so popular, within 18 months, Bill Perry, Nina Beveridge and Geoffrey secured operational funding and premises to establish a separate, artist run organization called Toronto Community Videotex, incorporated in March of 1983. The founding directors were Bill Perry, Nina Beveridge, Geoffrey Shea and Paul Petro. Known today as InterAccess, it is Ontario's only exhibition space devoted exclusively to technological media arts. The Centre for Contemporary Canadian Art places the founding of InterAccess as a key moment in both the history of Canadian electronic art but also within a timeline of developments in international art, science, technology and culture.
Germaine Koh is a Malaysian-born and Canadian conceptual artist based in Vancouver. Her works incorporate the artistic styles of neo-conceptual art, minimalism, and environmental art, and is concerned with the significance of everyday actions, familiar objects and common places.

MSDSStudio is a Toronto-based design studio founded by Jessica Nakanishi and Jonathan Sabine in 2011. They focus on furniture, lighting, and interior design. Nakanishi's and Sabine's collaboration comes from Nakanishi's experience in interior design, and Sabine's background in making furniture. Their style has been described as a mixture of Japanese minimalism and Scandinavian simplicity. Toronto Life called them one of "Toronto’s best architects and designers right now".
