"Destroy Me" on YouTube |
"Destroy Me" is the fourth single by the anonymous, masked English metal band President. It was released for digital streaming and download on 4 September 2025, accompanied by a music video. [1]
Following the release of "Rage" in July 2025, President announced "Destroy Me" would premiere on 5 September, [2] although it was officially released worldwide a day earlier. [1]
"Destroy Me" takes on a heavier sound than "Rage". Revolver described the song as a "heart-stirring" anthem reflecting the desperation of a deteriorating relationship, [1] while Rock Sound called it "powerful," noting how it blends emo-rap–driven verses with a breakdown that recalls the post-hardcore style of the 2000s. [3]
The official music video premiered alongside the single on 4 September 2025. [1] The music video takes place in a vast, empty venue, where the band performs with their frontman, President, at the center. As the track intensifies, vivid neon lights shift in color, amplifying the energy of the performance. Meanwhile, the song’s lyrics appear on screen, flashing in sync with the music.
"Destroy Me" was part of President's live debut set at Download Festival on 15 June 2025 and has since become a fan-favorite. [3] [4]
