The Deutsche JKA-Karate Bund (DJKB) was created 1993 by Hideo Ochi [1] as the German branch of the Japan Karate Association (JKA). [2]

Hideo Ochi is a Japanese master of karate. He is ranked 9th Dan, and is a former Japan Karate Association (JKA) World Champion in kumite (sparring) and kata (patterns). He was also coach of the German national team and Chief Instructor for JKA Europe. In 1997, he received the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Japan Karate Association is one of the most influential Shotokan karate organizations in the world. It is also one of the oldest karate organizations continuously in operation until the present.

The reason for the founding of the DJKB were disagreements with the Deutscher Karate Verband(DKV) [3] about the importance of the traditional values of Shōtōkan karate.

Today the DJKB is an independent and not with the German Olympic Sports Confederation affiliated confederation with more than 21000 members and 450 dojos and clubs.

In 1961, Mikami won first place in kata again. Japan Shotokan Karate Association (JSKA) is one of the fastest growing Shotokan Karate associations in the world, founded by Keigo Abe in 1999. Abe is a former instructor graduate of the Japan Karate Association and trained and taught at the JKA Headquarters for nearly 35 years. He held a number of senior positions within the JKA and latterly the Matsuno section of the JKA. He had been a senior student of Nakayama and as such the teachings of Nakayama remain an integral part of the evolution of the Shotokan style within the JSKA.

Hideo Yamamoto is a Japanese master of Shotokan karate. He won the IAKF world championship Kumite title in 1983, and he was twice JKA All-Japan kumite champion. He became the national coach of Japan.

Toshihiro Mori is a Japanese master of Shotokan karate. He has won the JKA's version of the world championships for kumite. He has also won the JKA All-Japan championships for kumite on 2 occasions. He is currently an instructor of the Japan Karate Association.

Takenori Imura is a Japanese master of Shotokan karate. He has won the JKA's version of the world championships for kata on 2 occasions. He has also won the JKA All-Japan championships for kata on 5 occasions. He is currently an instructor of the Japan Karate Association.

Tomio Imamura is a Japanese master of Shotokan karate. He has won the JKA's version of the world championships for kumite on 2 occasions. He has also won the JKA All-Japan championships for kumite on 2 occasions. He is currently an instructor of the Japan Karate Association.

Katsutoshi Shiina is a Japanese master of Shotokan karate. He has won the JKA's version of the world championships for kata.. He has also won the JKA All-Japan championships for kata on 2 occasions and for kumite on 3 occasions. He is currently an instructor of the Japan Karate Association.

Kunio Kobayashi is a Japanese instructor of Shotokan karate. He has won the JKA All-Japan championships for kata on 2 occasions and for kumite on 3 occasions. He is currently an instructor of the Japan Karate Association.

Koji Ogata is a Japanese instructor of Shotokan karate. He has won the JKA's version of the world championships for kumite on 2 occasions. He has also won the JKA All-Japan championships for kumite on 2 occasions. He is currently an instructor of the Japan Karate Association.

Keisuke Nemoto is a Japanese instructor of Shotokan karate. He has won the JKA All-Japan championships for kumite. He is currently an instructor of the Japan Karate Association.

Kazuaki Kurihara is a Japanese instructor of Shotokan karate. He has won the JKA's version of the world championships for kata on 2 occasions. He has also won the JKA All-Japan championships for kata on 7 occasions and once for kumite. He is currently an instructor of the Japan Karate Association.

Ryosuke Shimizu is a Japanese instructor of Shotokan karate. He has won the JKA All-Japan championships for kumite on 2 occasions. He is currently an instructor of the Japan Karate Association.
