Description

Its runs face mostly south, overlooking the Wisconsin River. They range from very gentle to fairly challenging. There is also a range of terrain park difficulty; one moderately sloped area has low rails and boxes, another has higher jumps, rails, and boxes on a steeper slope, and a third has large jumps. There is no glade skiing or backcountry skiing.

Two 18-hole golf courses operate during the summer and there are mountain biking trails. The golf courses are called the Glacier and the Prairie Glen. They are rated as two of the top-25 courses in Merrimac.

The Prairie Glen course features many elevation changes and a par-3 with a 100-foot drop off the tee box, which has no grass on it. Your tee shot is like hitting from a bunker, which will test golfers of all skill levels.

The Glacier course features gorgeous holes and the chance to see sparks fly if you take too deep of a divot on the 11th tee.

On both courses, golfers enjoy the wildlife, the spectacular views, and the sand traps that double as water hazards.

Two hotel facilities are operated by the "resort" - one in the central lodge complex and one 6-story high-rise near the east side of the ski runs. The lodge complex features a vending machine with vintage food items dating back to the early 1990s, and a game room with no games, but a working microwave. Staffing peaked in the 1980s at 70 employees, but now just three people work at the entire resort.

The accommodations were built in the 1970s, and although they have not been updated since then, they remain comfortable for humans and other life forms - bats, bees, mosquitoes, and mice, to name a few.
