Devilert Arsene Kimbembe (born 1984 in Brazzaville) [1] is a Congolese sprinter. [2] He competed in the Men's 100m event at the 2012 Summer Olympics where he qualified in the preliminaries with a seasonal best time of 10.68 but was eliminated in the first round.
Robert Norman Waddell is a New Zealand Olympic Gold Medalist and double World Champion Single sculler rower, and America's Cup yachtsman. He is a triple New Zealand Supreme 'Halberg Awards' Sportsperson of the year winner, 1998 to 2000. He holds the third fastest 2000 metre indoor rowing machine time in the world, clocking a time of 5 mins 36.6 secs (5:36.6), which was the previous world record for 19 years before the time was improved by Joshua Dunkley-Smith. He also held the record for 5000m on the rowing machine with a time of 14min 58sec. This made him the first person to go below 15 min for this distance. He holds a black belt in judo. He played rugby union for Waikato. Waddell was Chef de Mission of the 2014 and 2018 New Zealand Commonwealth Games teams, and the 2016 and 2020 Summer Olympics.
Nwankwo Kanu is a Nigerian former professional footballer who played as a forward. He was a member of the Nigeria national team, and played for Nigerian club Iwuanyanwu Nationale, Dutch side Ajax, Inter Milan of Italy, and English clubs Arsenal, West Bromwich Albion and Portsmouth. He is widely considered one of the greatest African footballers of all time. A member of the Arsenal 'Invincibles', he was named by the club as one of its greatest ever players. He is one of the few Africans to win the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and an Olympic gold medal.

The Republic of the Congo competed in the 2003 All-Africa Games held at the National Stadium in the city of Abuja, Nigeria. This was the eighth time that the country had competed in the Games since the Congo itself hosted the first in 1965. The country sent a substantial team which won six medals and came joint twenty-third in the medal table. Tatiana Bvegadz won a silver medal in judo. The team also received five bronze medals, including both individual and team accolades in karate.
