Devon Welsh (born September 3, 1988) is a Canadian singer and songwriter. From 2010 to 2016, he was the frontman of the electropop duo Majical Cloudz. [2] He released his debut solo album, Dream Songs , in 2018. [3]

Early life and education

Welsh was born to film and television actor Kenneth Welsh. [4] He lived in Sandford, Ontario, a community of Uxbridge, for a few years. His parents separated when he was four. He entered McGill University in 2007 and graduated in 2011 with a degree in comparative religion. [5] [6]

Career

Welsh released his debut solo album, Dream Songs , on August 24, 2018. The album was produced by Austin Tufts of Braids and self-released on You Are Accepted, a record label created by Welsh. [7]

Personal life

From 2007 to 2010, Welsh was in an on-and-off relationship with Claire Boucher, known professionally as Grimes. The two met in 2007 at a first-year dorm party while studying at McGill University. [6]

Makonnen Kamali Sheran, better known by his stage name iLoveMakonnen, is an American rapper and singer. He is best known for his 2014 single "Tuesday", which initially gained recognition following its remix with Canadian rapper Drake. After its release in August of that year, he signed with Drake's record label OVO Sound, an imprint of Warner Records that same month; the song was re-released by the label shortly after and subsequently peaked at number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. "Tuesday" also received a nomination Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards, and served as the lead single for his likewise re-issued self-titled debut extended play (2014), which moderately entered the Billboard 200. He parted ways with OVO in 2016, and his following releases have failed to chart.

Moonshine is the debut studio album by American singer-songwriter and former Issues lead vocalist Tyler Carter, released on February 1, 2019, on Velocity and Rise Records. The album is a follow-up to Carter's debut extended play (EP), Leave Your Love. It was produced by long time collaborator Lophiile, Medasin, Brandon Paddock, Femdouble, Maui Black, and SmarterChild. The album was recorded in 2018 and was written over the course of three years, between 2016 and 2018.
