Dian Hadipranowo (born 2 August 1965), better known as Dian HP, is an Indonesian composer.
Dian was born in Tunis on 2 August 1965 to a diplomat and his wife. [1] As a toddler, she would eat her meals near the family piano and play her own tunes; she reportedly would not eat unless she was near it. [1] Growing up in Germany, she later studied the piano at the music school in Bad Godesberg, Bonn. [1] Her father would also take her to concerts and other musical venues. [1] However, she also considered becoming a kindergarten teacher. [1]
Dian returned to Indonesia in the late 1970s, soon enrolling at the Jakarta Art Institute; during the same period she taught jazz to Indra Lesmana. [1] By 1984 she was earning a living through music, at times collaborating with Indonesian stars like Fariz RM, Titiek Puspa, and Guruh Soekarnoputra. [1]
In 2003, Dian wrote and produced the music for child singer Tasya's album Istana Pizza (Pizza Palace). [1] The following year, Dian founded the Taman Musik Dian Indonesia, a musical school for children with autism and Down syndrome. [1] She had become interested in the work at the age of 16, when her father took her to a school for children with Down syndrome in Germany. [1]
Dian has been involved in several stage musicals, including Guruh Soekarnoputra's Mahadaya Cinta (The Power of Love; 2005) and Kupu-Kupu (Butterfly; 2006), a tribute to Titiek Puspa. [1] In 2010 Dian directed the musical Gita Cinta: The Musical (Love Song: The Musical), an adaptation of Arizal's 1979 film Gita Cinta dari SMA (Love Song From High School); Dian noted that the film was one of her favourites as a child, and that she had thought Rano Karno very handsome. [1] The musical, which required five months of songwriting, was run from 19 to 21 March 2010 at Ismail Marzuki Cultural Centre. [1] [2]
In 2009, Dian formed the band Kumari with singer Trie Utami, her friend of thirty years. [1] [3] Dian and Utami work together to write the songs, which Utami sings. [3] Despite the initial album's title being Kumari untuk Perempuan (Kumari for Women), the duo said that they were not being feminists, as they were asking for men to also help promote women's rights. [3]
On 14 February 2011, Dian produced Delapan Komposisi Cinta (Eight Compositions of Love), a concert for Ubiet Raseuki. [4] The concert, with lyrics taken directly from the work of Sitok Srengenge and Nirwan Dewanto, received a second performance in June. [4] In between the concerts, she wrote a rock musical based on the 1977 film Ali Topan Anak Jalanan (Ali Topan the Street Child). [5] The musical featured original compositions by herself (her first rock compositions) and previously produced work by Guruh Soekarnoputra and Chrisye. [5]
That same year, Dian celebrated her birthday by holding two concerts, on 6 and 7 August, entitled Semesta Cinta (Universe of Love). [6] The concerts, held at Salihara Theatre in South Jakarta, featured 12 art songs written by Dian and Sitok Srengenge that were sung by 22 singers from a variety of backgrounds. Dian has received numerous awards for her film compositions. Her work for Hanny Saputra's 2007 film Love is Cinta garnered her an award for Best Music Arranger. [1] Several other films, including Ramadhan Ramona (1992), Rini Tomboy (Rini the Tomboy; 1992), Mirror (2005), Denias: Senandung di Atas Awan (Denias: Humming Above the Clouds; 2006) and Liburan Seru (Fun Holiday; 2007) received nominations. [1] Her work on child singer Tasya's 2003 album Istana Pizza garnered Best Song Writer and the Best Producer for a Children's Album. [1]
Kris Dayanti, often written mononymously as Krisdayanti, is an Indonesian singer and actress. She is the younger sister of Yuni Shara, another Indonesian singer. She is the daughter of Trenggono and Rachma Widadiningsih. At the age of 9, she sang a song for the movie Megaloman. Three years later, she released her first album, Biasa Saja, together with the soundtrack album for Catatan Si Emon. While still in high school, Krisdayanti participated in numerous singing and modeling competitions. Yuni Shara is an Indonesian singer and actress. she is the elder sister of singer Krisdayanti. She was born as Wahyu Setyaning Budi in Batu, East Java on 3 June 1972. Her debut was in a music festival called Festival Bintang Radio & Televisi in 1987 when she was 15 years old and won 2nd place. In 1989, she participated in the same festival and eventually she won the first place. This is where she was offered a record deal by Billboard. She released her first record in 1990, titled Jatuh Cinta Lagi. In 1991, she released another record, titled Hilang Permataku, while in 1992 she released Salah Tingkah. Her career peaked with the release of the record Mengapa Tiada Maaf in 1995. The record were sold as many as 1.5 million copies, thus BASF awarded her with 4 Platinum Records. She also received 3 more Platinum Record for the Indonesian version of the soundtrack of the martial arts TV series Return of the Condor Heroes.

She was a judge on Indonesian Idol from seasons 1 to 5 and season 8, Golden Memories Vol.1 and 2, Q Academy season 1, and The Voice Indonesia season 3 and 4. She is known for the song "Sang Dewi". In the 2020s she released the song Show Off Your Colors, in collaboration with Eka Gustiwana Sarah Fajira, and Ashanty. Her latest release was the song "To Lose" as an answer to a netizen challenge, and she also released a ballad version called "Still Learning".

Starring Gita Novalista, Atiqah Hasiholan, and Reza Rahadian, it follows a young Bajau girl named Pakis who has lost her father at sea and uses mirrors to unsuccessfully search for him. It has several interpretations, including as a coming-of-age story and as an environmentalist piece.

Sitok Srengenge is an Indonesian poet, actor, and dramatist. Born Sitok Sunarto in Purwodadi, Central Java, he became interested in literature at a young age and was heavily influenced by his village's strong oral tradition. When he moved to Jakarta to complete his university studies, he became involved with the Bengkel Teater under Rendra. Sitok remained with the company for almost a decade, appearing in several plays as he refined his literary style. His first poetry collection, Persetubuhan Liar, was published in 1992.
