Murray is a city situated on the Wasatch Front in the core of Salt Lake Valley in the U.S. state of Utah. Named for territorial governor Eli Murray,the city had a population of 50,637 as of the 2020 United States Census. Murray shares borders with Taylorsville,Holladay,South Salt Lake,Millcreek and West Jordan,Utah. After her election defeat,she was appointed to replace Ben McAdams as Salt Lake County Mayor,taking the oath of office in January 2019. She was elected to that position for a full four-year term in the 2020 general election.

Shireen Ghorbani is an American politician from Utah. She was an at-large member of the Salt Lake County Council,representing 1.1 million residents. She was selected to fill the vacancy created when Jenny Wilson became Salt Lake County Mayor. She was not re-elected during the 2020 election,losing the seat by 1,196 votes to Republican opponent Laurie Stringham. Stringham replaced Ghorbani on the council in January 2021. Ghorbani also ran unsuccessfully to represent Utah 2nd congressional district in 2018 against Chris Stewart.
Erin Mendenhall is an American politician and activist who has been serving as the mayor of Salt Lake City,Utah since 2020. Upon taking office as Salt Lake City’s 36th mayor,Mendenhall became the city’s third and youngest woman in the role. Prior to assuming office,Mendenhall represented the city’s 5th district on the Salt Lake City Council.
