Louga is a town in northwestern Senegal. Louga is a cattle market centre, and has road and rail links with the port city of Saint-Louis to the northwest and Dakar to the southwest. The area surrounding Louga is at the northern limits of Senegal's peanut- (groundnut-) growing area and is inhabited by the Fulani, who are generally pastoral nomads, and the Wolof, who are sedentary farmers. Louga is located in what is called the Ndiambour, which used to be part of the Cayor province.
Diarra is a French translation of the clan name Jara used in West Africa, as a hangover from the French colonial empire in that region. It originates from the Bambara language word jara, meaning lion, synonymous with waraba. The Kingdom of Diarra existed from the 7th Century until the 19th Century. The name is also frequently used with reference to the 18th to early 19th-century Bambara Empire in Ségou, Mali, which was ruled successively by Ngolo Diarra, his son Mansong Diarra, and then his son Da Diarra.

Aminata Touré is a Senegalese politician who served as the Prime Minister of Senegal from 1 September 2013 to 4 July 2014. She was the second female Prime Minister of Senegal after Mame Madior Boye, and she previously served as Justice Minister from 2012 to 2013. While campaigning for the upcoming elections in February 2024, she was arrested by the police and detained for six hours though never charged with any crime.

Mame Diarra Bousso (1833–1866) is a Sufi saint from Senegal. The annual pilgrimage to the site of her death and mausoleum is the only Muslim pilgrimage dedicated to a woman in Senegal. She was the mother of Amadou Bamba.
Now United is a global pop group, formed in West Hollywood, Los Angeles County, USA, in 2017 by Idols creator Simon Fuller. Originally, the group consisted of 14 members from 14 countries and in total has had 18 countries being represented and 20 members. The group currently has 9 active members; others have either left to pursue solo careers after their contracts ended, or are inactive. Each member represents a different country with the possibility of adding new members from other countries and also a possibility of passing the representation to a new generation of members.

Any Gabrielly Rolim Soares is a Brazilian musician, actress, dancer, model and singer. Born in Guarulhos, São Paulo, she began dancing at a very young age and performed at some of the city's most renowned theaters while attending the São Paulo Municipal Ballet School. In 2013, she made her debut playing young Nala in the musical The Lion King. Her big break came in 2016 when she was chosen as the voice of Disney Princess Moana Waialiki on the Brazilian version of the animated film Moana. In addition to her voice acting work, Any Gabrielly also recorded a few songs for the film's soundtrack, including "Saber Quem Sou," the Portuguese version of the track "How Far I'll Go." Over the next few years, she achieved international fame by representing Brazil in the global pop group Now United, with whom she performed all over the world. Some of the group's biggest hits include the singles "Summer in the City" (2017) and "Paraná" (2019), as well as the musical Love, Love, Love (2021). In 2022 she left the group to focus on her solo career.

Izabel Pimentel, born in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil, is the first Brazilian and Latin American to sail solo around the world. In 2006, she became the first Brazilian sailor to cross the Atlantic Ocean solo, a journey that lasted 42 days and 6 hours. She set off on 10 July from Cascais, Portugal and arrived in Fortaleza, Brazil on 21 August. In total, Pimentel sailed in a 21-foot (6.5-meter) Mini-Transat 5,300 miles.
