Die Kinder vom Alstertal is a German children's television series produced by Norddeutscher Rundfunk and broadcast on the Kinderkanal from 1998 to 2004. There are 52 episodes in four seasons.
The series is set in a large farmhouse near the North Sea with a station on the Hamburg U-Bahn. The main characters are seven children from three families living together in the house, [1] and the series also features assorted animals, in particular the farm dog, Oskar, the farm cats, a tame rooster, Einstein, and a pony, Justus. [2] It was a successor to Neues vom Süderhof , with the same director, Monika Zinnenberg , and Ursula Hinrichs, the grandmother in the former series, playing an aunt. [3] Scriptwriters were Marlies Kerremans, Jörn Schröder and Horst Peter Lommer, [1] with Arno Alexander as editor. [3] Die Kinder vom Alstertal aimed to be more realistic and somewhat more complex than its predecessor. [3]

Natja Brunckhorst is a German actress, screenwriter, and director. Brunckhorst was 13 years old when she was selected by director Uli Edel for the leading role as Christiane F. in the critically acclaimed 1981 dramatisation of the biographical work Christiane F. - Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo by Christiane Vera Felscherinow, written following the tape recordings of the experiences of teenage girl Christiane F. The film immediately acquired cult status and features David Bowie as both himself and the soundtrack composer, which gave the film a commercial boost. A year later Brunckhorst appeared in Rainer Werner Fassbinder's Querelle (1982). After the unexpected success of Christiane F. - Wir Kinder vom Bahnhof Zoo, in order to avoid public attention she retreated from public life and went to school in England. After a short time in Paris she returned to Germany in 1987 to study at the Schauspielschule Bochum. Since then she has acted on film and television, for example in The Princess and the Warrior, as well as the German TV series Dr. Sommerfeld – Neues vom Bülowbogen.

Neues vom Süderhof is a German children's television series. The heart of the series are the five Brendel children who live on the Süderhof farm. Dr. Günther Brendel is a veterinarian and his wife Sonia is an author writing a book about parenting. They live with their two daughters, Bimbo and Molle, and next door live Grandma and Grandpa Brendel. After Günther's brother and sister-in-law are killed in a plane crash, Sonia and Günther adopt their children, Dany, Peggy, and Benny. Thus, the series chronicles the experiences of these five children and their lives on the Süderhof farm.

Der kleine Tag is a story by Wolfram Eicke which became known in a musical version in collaboration with Rolf Zuckowski and Hans Niehaus. The story was published in 1988. The musical, for children but not only children, first appeared in print in 1998, and as an audio play and CD in 1999 when it premiered at the Münchner Planetarium. The musical is often presented on stage, both by professionals and by schools and music academies. It received several awards.
