Dillon Lawson is an American professional baseball hitting coach who is a hitting coordinator in the Boston Red Sox organization. He was the hitting coach for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB) from 2022 to 2023.
Lawson attended Transylvania University,where he played college baseball as a catcher and first baseman. [1] After graduating,he became a coach at Lindenwood University from 2007 to 2009,IMG Academy from 2010 through 2011,Morehead State University from 2009 through 2012,and Southeast Missouri State University from 2012 through 2015. [2] In 2016,Lawson was the hitting coach for the Tri-City ValleyCats,and in 2017 he coached for the University of Missouri. [3] In 2018,he coached for the Quad Cities River Bandits. [1]
The New York Yankees hired Lawson as their minor league hitting coordinator in 2018. After the 2021 season,the Yankees promoted him to be their major league hitting coach. [4] He was fired on July 9,2023. [5] [6]
On December 20,2023,Lawson was hired by the Boston Red Sox to serve as a hitting coordinator,primarily to work with Boston's upper–level minor leaguers. [7]

After being traded as a minor league prospect by the Seattle Mariners,Varitek played his entire 15-year career in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Red Sox. A three-time All-Star and Gold Glove Award winner at catcher,as well as a Silver Slugger Award winner,Varitek was part of both the 2004 World Series and 2007 World Series Championship teams,and was viewed widely as one of the team's leaders. In December 2004 he was named the captain of the Red Sox,only their fourth captain since 1923. He was a switch-hitter.
William Richard Mueller is an American former professional baseball third baseman who played in Major League Baseball (MLB). Mueller's MLB playing career was spent with the San Francisco Giants,Chicago Cubs (2001–2002),Boston Red Sox (2003–2005),and Los Angeles Dodgers (2006). As a player,he played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Oakland Athletics,Los Angeles Angels,Boston Red Sox,New York Yankees,and Philadelphia Phillies. He played college baseball for Wagner College and was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the sixth round of the 2006 MLB draft.
