In Europe, Cools was a runner-up in the 1976 U.E.F.A.Cup Final and 1978 European Cup Final, Bruges losing both finals to Liverpool. He was rated by World Soccer Magazine as Bruges' best player in that 1978 Final. At 32 Cools left Bruges to join Beerschot where he enjoyed a new lease of life, becoming Captain of the national team. At the 1980 European Championship in Italy Cools played in all four of Belgium's games including the Final where they lost to West Germany. He was capped 35 times and scored two goals for the Belgium national team.
Erwin Vandendaele is a Belgian former professional footballer who won the Belgian Golden Shoe in 1971 while at Club Brugge. He played 32 times for the Belgium national team between 1970 and 1977, starting in a 2–1 friendly defeat to France on 15 November 1970.
Raoul Lambert is a Belgian retired footballer who played as a striker. He finished top scorer of the Belgian First Division with 17 goals in 1972 while playing for Club Brugge. He also scored 18 goals in 33 matches with the Belgium national team between 1966 and 1977. Lambert made his international debut on 20 April 1966 in a 3–0 friendly win against France and he scored. He was in the team for the 1970 FIFA World Cup and the Euro 72.
Birger Quistorff Jensen was a Danish professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper, spending most of his career with Belgian club Club Brugge.

He also won the 1976 Cup-Winners Cup, 1976 European Super Cup and 1978 Cup-Winners Cup with RSC Anderlecht.
Jean Thissen is a Belgian retired football player and coach. He played as a defender for Standard Liège and Anderlecht. At international level, he made 34 appearances for the Belgium national team, participating in the 1970 FIFA World Cup and the UEFA Euro 1972. Thissen coached Beira-Mar, Servette, Union Saint-Gilloise, Gabon, Standard Liège, MC Alger and Togo.
Jean Baptiste Dockx was a Belgian footballer who played as a midfielder for Mechelen, Racing White and Anderlecht, and also for the Belgium national team in the 1970 FIFA World Cup and the 1972 UEFA European Football Championship. He was later a manager, and was caretaker manager of Anderlecht in 1999.
