180 is a 2011 Indian romantic drama film directed by Jayendra Panchapakesan who co-wrote the film with Subha and Umarji Anuradha. The film was shot simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil, the latter titled Nootrenbadhu (transl. 180). It stars Siddharth, Priya Anand and Nithya Menen with notable roles being played by Moulee, Tanikella Bharani and Geetha among others. Vengayam (transl. Onion) is a Tamil language film written and directed by Sankagiri Rajkumar. Sathyaraj plays a guest role as himself in the film and Alexander- VJ and Pavina Joel in lead roles. The music of the film was composed by Bharani and cinematography performed by Rahu. The film was released to very low profile on 19 August 2011. Later it was re-released on 23 March 2012.
Sattapadi Kutram is a 2011 Indian Tamil action drama film directed by S. A. Chandrasekhar starring Sathyaraj, Vikranth, Harish Kalyan. Bhanu, Komal Sharma, and Aishwarya Rajesh are the female leads, and Seeman, A. Venkatesh, Suresh, and Radha Ravi play supporting roles. The film dealt with various issues, including corruption in the higher echelons of the government, stashing of black money abroad by Indians, corruption in the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, sexual exploits of godmen, travails of Indian fishermen and the Sri Lankan ethnic conflict. Released on 25 March 2011 to negative reviews, it did poorly at the box-office.
Kazhugu (transl. Eagle) is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language comedy thriller film written and directed by newcomer Sathyasiva, starring Krishna and Bindu Madhavi. The film, produced by Krishna's father K. K. Sekhar along with K. S. Madhubala, features music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The story revolves around four persons, referred to as "Kazhugu", who recover the bodies of suicide victims who jump off a cliff. The film, based on real-life incidents, has been shot in real locations, including Kodaikanal, Theni, and Munnar. It had been in making since late 2010 and eventually released on 16 March 2012, to mixed reviews and became a sleeper hit.
Vithagan (transl. Trickster/Master) is a 2011 Tamil-language action film directed by R. Parthiban that features himself in the lead along with Poorna. The film, which has been in making since 2008, released on 18 November 2011. The film was the 50th film of Parthipan, has him in the role of a police officer, who is brainy as well as brawny. With an innovative tagline 'With the gun', 'Vithagan' has Poorna as heroine and music has been composed by Joshua Sridhar of 'Kadhal' fame. The film opened to extremely negative reviews and bombed at the box office.
Kollaikaran (transl. Robber) is a 2012 Tamil-language film directed by Tamil Selvan. The film stars Vidharth, Sanchita Shetty, and P. Ravi Shankar The music was composed by Johan Shevanesh with editing by LVK Doss. The film released on 13 January 2012. It is a remake of Malayalam film Meesa Madhavan.

Attakathi fetched positive reviews and emerged successful at the box office.

G. N. R. Kumaravelan is an Indian film director, who works in Tamil cinema. After assisting directors Balu Mahendra and Kamal Haasan in their films, Kumaravelan's directorial debut was the 2009 film Ninaithale Inikkum, and his second was the 2011 film Yuvan Yuvathi. His third film Haridas (2013), led to him being nominated for the Filmfare Award for Best Tamil Director.
Arjun Sarja is an Indian actor, producer and director who works predominantly in Tamil cinema and he also established his career in Telugu and Kannada cinema apart from a few Hindi and Malayalam films. He debuted as a child actor in the film Simhada Mari Sainya in the year 1981. Sarja had acted in more than 160 movies. He has directed 12 films and also produced and distributed a number of films. After starring in numerous Kannada films with minor roles, he starred in his first movie as an independent actor in Male Bantu Male. In 1984, Sarja made his Tamil Debut in Rama Narayanan's film Nandri. During the subsequent years he acted in many Telugu and Kannada films portraying lead and supporting roles in Trimurtulu (1987), Premagni (1989), Prathap (1990) and Shivanaga (1992).

The film stars Santhosh Prathap and Archana in the lead roles, while Ganja Karuppu and Madhusudhan Rao play supporting roles. The music was composed by K. S. Manoj with cinematography by K. Gokul and editing by S. P. Ahamed. The film released on 28 February 2020.
