Do Dil... Ek Jaan (transl.Two Hearts... One Soul) is an Indian television drama series, that premiered on Life OK on 3 June 2013 and ended on 24 January 2014. It was produced by Abhinav Shukla under his Nautanki Films banner. [1] The series starred Ayaz Ahmed, Nikita Sharma, Kanwar Dhillon and Shritama Mukherjee. [2] [3]
Season 1 :
A Kashmiri girl named Antara moves with her mother to Mumbai, where she falls in love with a gangster, Raghu. Raghu is forced to make hard decisions about whether his allegiances lie with his gang and his godmother, Daya Mayi, or with his newfound love, Antara.
Raghu's past catches up with him when Daya Mayi's son, Satya, returns home. Satya ruins Raghu and Antara's marriage plans. When Raghu discovers that Antara is pregnant with his child, Raghu and Antara escape. Antara gives birth to a boy, Vidhan, but eventually Satya finds and kills Antara and Raghu. Satya later marries and has a daughter, Vedika.
Vedika returns to the district where she falls in love with Vidhan, Raghu's son. Tragedy follows and Satya's sins come back upon him many times over, completing the cycle of violence that he began when he murdered Raghu and Antara. Vidhaan returns to seek revenge on Satya and meets Machmach who is unaware that Vidhaan is Raghu's son. When Vidhaan reveals his identity to Machmach, he vows to help him in his revenge.
Vidhaan faces Satya and a fight ensues. Vidhaan chooses to spare Saya's life who uses this as an advantage and shoots an unsuspecting Vidhaan. As Vedika witnesses Vidhaan dying, she shocks her father and kills herself by shooting herself in the chest.
A heartbroken Satya repents all the murders he committed as Machmach taunts him about his fate.
Season 3 :
The young, loving couple , Asmita and Shan, are in love and have given birth to twin baby girls. Krishi and Krisha.
Their happiness is short-lived when they go on a honeymoon and get shot by a mysterious lady who is in a veil. After Asmita saw her trying to I India's legacy and heritage. (Diamonds worthing 90 quadrillion rupees).
20 years later.
Krishi is raised up as Sanam, while Krisha is raised up as Seher.
They're on vengeful mode after their parents 's death. Both join the investigation team to stop criminals from human trafficking, illegal black market trading, and heists.
Sanam becomes an undercover cop and encounters young, handsome gentleman named Mahir.
The house of Shankar Malhotra is shown , an extremely wealthy family. He's residing with his family.
He has three wives Shraddha, Anila, and Poloumi. Shraddha's whereabouts are still unknown.
Along with his six kids. Mahir, Kulpreet, Rehan, Preet, Yuvraj, and Prachi. Along with his mother , Harleen, who is the matriarch of the family.
Yuvraj also meets Sanam and becomes obsessed with her. Yuvraj introduces her to his family and announces that he wants to marry Sanam. They agree. Sanam and Mahir's feelings towards each other still grow.
On the wedding day, someone kidnaps Yuvraj, which compelled Mahir to marry Sanam in order to stop society from taunting her. The two get married.
Yuvraj escapes and finds out that Sanam got married to Mahir.
Seher tells Sanam that she should tell Mahir the truth about her identity. Sanam is scared.
Yuvraj still creates problems in Mahir and Sanam's marriage.
He attempts to poison Mahir in food, and he gets Mahir wrongly convicted in exchange for Sanam. He asks Sanam to marry him in exchange for Mahir's freedom. Sanam signs divorce papers. It was revealed that with Seher's assistance, the pens ink got erased within 3 hours. Sanam and Seher outsmart him again.
Sanam and Mahir reconcile again.
The Mysterious lady comes and creates a havoc in their marriage, asking Sanam to give her the diamonds. Sanam doesn't agree. Mysterious lady attempts to kill Mahir and kidnaps Seher but fails.
Mahir and Sanam confesses their love towards each other in a small hut during escape.
Seher's identity gets revealed that she's Sanam's identical twin sister . She gets close to Rehan, and both fall in love .
After many attempts, the mysterious lady 's identity comes to light that she's none more than the other but Anila. Anila confesses everything that she killed Sanam's parents, and she is the most trained assassin. With 94 henchmen. She tries to get in between Sanam and Mahir. But Seher challenges her and retaliates.
Anila feels threatened and kidnaps Devika (the twins 's aunt).
Rehan joined forces with Sanam and Seher after finding out the truth about his mother. On one night, Seher and Rehan get married.
Mahir comes to know about Sanam 's identity and gets shuttered. The two reconcile again after Mahir forgives her.
Entering the new obsessed girl named Vishakha , she's a spoiltbrat who studied in London with Mahir and got obsessed with him, but Mahir never noticed her. Vishakha is Sanam's best friend and got jealous of Sanam's life.
On New Years Eve. Anila attempts to get the diamonds. She kills Devika and throws Sanam, Rehan, and Seher off the cliff.
6 months later :
Mahir is diagnosed with depression after Sanam's presumed death.
He gets engaged with Vishakha.
Kaynat enters Anila's mansion , it is revealed that she's working with Sanam.
Sanam, Seher, and Rehan return and retaliate. Which shocks Anila .
Vishakha runs over Sanam with a car. Sanam gets hospitalized.
Sanam needs blood urgently, and there's no match. Anila gets the blood and blackmails Mahir to marry Vishakha in exchange for Sanam's life. Mahir agrees in order to save Sanam's life. Sanam wakes up and is shattered finding Mahir and Vishakha got married. Seher makes her understand how she tried to stop the wedding.
Yuvraj, who is now a changed person, asks for forgiveness from Sanam. On Holi festival
Yuvraj has a recording of Anila and Vishakha 's crimes. Sanam notifies Anila that her day will come.
Anila gets alert that Yuvraj is about to expose her. She tries to get to him, but Yuvi doesn't listen.
Anila shoots the helicopter that Yuvraj is in. The helicopter explodes.
Vishakha instigates Yuvi's death to Sanam and Seher.
Yuvraj is cremated, and Anila vows vengeance. Anila becomes more merciless .
Mahir and Sanam consummate their marriage.
Anila tries to make a difference between them. She drug the servant and Sanam and put them in the same bed. Mahir and the entire family see them. Mahir misunderstands Sanam.
Vishakha tries to get Mahir's sperm and impregnate herself, but Sanam throws it away and shows Mahir the recording. Mahir realises his mistake and asks for forgiveness from Sanam, who wants nothing to do with him. It is revealed that Anila kidnapped Shraddha - Mahir's biological mother. But the twins save her. Shlok, who's Anila's prodigal son, enters and falls in love with Sanam and teams up against Anila.
One night, Anila holds Sanam, Mahir, Rehan, and Seher hostage vowing to kill them all for Yuvi 's murder.
Vishakha takes a bullet for Sanam and asks for an apology for betraying her. Vishakha dies.
Anila gets arrested.
Shraddha returns, and everyone gets happy, and the family reunites.
Shlok kidnaps, Seher, and attempts to sell her to a brothel in exchange for Sanaam to marry him. But Mahir and Rehan save them in time. Shlok dies with the building exploding.
Sanam is revealed to be pregnant.
Seher and Rehan consummate their marriage. Seher gets pregnant.
Anila dies during the escape .
8 months later, the sisters give birth. Sanam gives birth to baby girl Mishti, Kulpreet gives birth to baby girl Ruhi, and Seher gives birth to baby boy Abhi.
Sanam- Mahir, Seher- Rehan renews their vows ending
The theme song, "Mera Mahi Tu", sung by Saurabh Kalsi, is based on a combination of Punjabi folk tunes and sea shanties. [6]
In October 2016 , The creator announced that Do Dil Ek Jaan would return with its season 2 which premiered Monday 5 June 2017. Starring ; Vrushika Mehta and Avinash Mishra as star leads. She also announced that the show would renew its contract for a new season after each four years. In December 2020, it was announced that Season 3 would commence on Monday 31 May 2021. Starring ; Surbhi Jyoti, Pearl V. Puri and Sudha Chandran as main leads.
In January 2025, it was announced that the show will be renewed for its fourth and last season. Season 4 will premiere Monday, 2 June 2025. Starring Aditi Sharma and Sidhant Gupta as main leads.
