As of the 2020 census, its population was 5,816, of which most of the population were residing in its county seat, and only incorporated municipality, Post. The county was created in 1876 and later organized in 1907. Garza is named for a pioneer Bexar County family, as it was once a part of that county.

The core of the Wurlitzer pipe organ at Organ Stop Pizza was built for the Denver Theatre in Denver Colorado and was installed in 1927 for silent movies. It saw service there until the 1930s. Rebuilt in 1975 for the Mesa, AZ Organ Stop Pizza location. The Wurlitzer was expanded to include pieces from other Wurlitzers.

Higley was an unincorporated community in Maricopa County, Arizona, United States. Higley's ZIP code was 85236 until 2007, when the U.S. Postal Service decided to abolish it for physical addresses, the 85236 ZIP code, however, remains in use for P.O. Box addresses at the Higley post office, located on Ray Road. As of 2010, almost all of Higley has been annexed into Gilbert or the neighboring cities of Mesa and Queen Creek. All that officially remains of Higley as an independent community is the school district, Higley Unified School District, however, some remaining commercial buildings in and around the original townsite are still standing and operate as small businesses.
The Salt River Pima–Maricopa Indian Community (SRPMIC) comprises two distinct Native American tribes—the Pima and the Maricopa —many of whom were originally part of the Halchidhoma (Xalchidom) tribe. The community was permanently created by an Executive Order of US President Rutherford Birchard Hayes on June 14th, 1879. The community area includes 53,600 acres (217 km2), of which 19,000 remain a natural preserve. As of 2022, the total population is 7,386. The community is a federally recognized tribe located in Arizona.
The Mesa Ranch School was a ranch school in Mesa, Arizona, that was established in 1902 by H. David Evans, a Briton with a Cambridge education who arrived in Arizona in 1899. It was designed to offer students from the eastern seaboard a western ranch lifestyle in a "dry and equable climate". Modeled as western equivalent of Phillips Academy, the Evans School was a college preparatory academy for 20 boys ages 15–18. Life at the school was described as "simple, even rough, the boys living each in his own cabin, keeping horses and making camping trips." In the mountains near Flagstaff the school maintained a summer tutoring camp.

Raton Mesa is the collective name of several mesas on the eastern side of Raton Pass in New Mexico and Colorado. The name Raton Mesa or Mesas has sometimes been applied to all the mesas that extend east for 90 miles (140 km) along the Colorado-New Mexico border from Raton, New Mexico and Trinidad, Colorado to the Oklahoma panhandle. These include Johnson Mesa, Mesa de Maya, and Black Mesa.
