Dominic Colenso is an English public speaker and former actor.

Early life

Colenso was born in Harlow, Essex. At the age of seven, he moved to Benson in Oxfordshire. He appeared in his primary school’s musicals, sang in the choir and acted in youth productions with the local amateur drama society. He graduated from the Wallingford School, attaining an A* grade for GCSE Drama and participated in the school productions. He was also a rugby player, playing for a local club and his school as well as representing Oxfordshire.

In 1997 Colenso moved with his family to Germany where he attended The International School of Düsseldorf. While maintaining his academic studies he travelled around Europe performing at drama and singing festivals. He continued to act and undertook some directing. He graduated from Drama Centre London in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Acting.

Career

Colenso appeared in the film Thunderbirds (2004), playing Virgil Tracy, and the Midsomer Murders episode "Ghosts of Christmas Past".

He performed at the National Theatre and the Royal Court. He also taught at drama schools including the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and directed productions in the UK and onboard Cunard's QE2 and QM2 cruise liner. [1]

Transitions to communication and speaking

Colenso transitioned from acting into transformation training, founding In Flow (formerly part of RADA in Business) to teach communication, presence, and leadership through performance techniques. [2]

As a motivational speaker, he has delivered keynotes and workshops on leadership, sales, resilience, and storytelling to global audiences, working with clients across six continents in sectors like tech, finance, and professional services. [3]

Colenso is the author of the book IMPACT: How to be more confident, increase your influence and know what to say under pressure (2019), [2] which draws on acting methods to help readers perform better in high-stakes situations
