Dominik Knoll is a real estate investor. He was the CEO of the World Trade Center New Orleans [1] from May 2010 to December 2016. [2]

Biography

Dominik Knoll received his MBA from the Freeman School of Business [3] and also studied at the Warwick Business School and Purdue University; he is also an alumnus of the Executive Education program at Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management. In addition, he holds a Master of Science degree in management from the School of Management at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. He has been a guest at conferences such as the Clinton Global Initiative [4] and the World Economic Forum. [5] Knoll is a regular contributor to the Huffington Post [6] and has been featured in several national and international publications including the Wall Street Journal, [7] Fortune, [8] Forbes Magazine, [9] China Daily, and others.

Knoll currently serves on the boards of Congressman Steve Scalise's Energy Advisory Group, French American Chamber of Commerce, Italy-America Chamber of Commerce of Louisiana, [10] Loyola University International Business Council, and was recently appointed by Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal to the Louisiana Board of International Commerce. [11] He also serves as an executive advisor on the Council on Competitiveness U.S. Manufacturing Competitiveness Initiative [12] and a steering committee member for the Campaign to Fix the Debt. [13]

In 2013, Knoll was recognized as one of the 10 most distinguished Italians living and working in the U.S. by the Italy America Chamber of Commerce. [14] Knoll was also featured in New Orleans Magazine's 2010 "People to Watch" article. [15]

In 2007, he published his Master's Thesis as a book in German: Unternehmensnetzwerke: Erfolgreich einem Netzwerk - Cluster beitreten, at the self-publishing publisher VDM, Saarbruecken. [16]

To date, the duo have produced three films: The Yes Men (2003), The Yes Men Fix the World (2009), and The Yes Men Are Revolting (2014). In these films, they impersonate entities that they dislike, a practice that they call "identity correction." The Yes Men operate under the mission statement that lies can expose truth. They create and maintain fake websites similar to ones they intend to spoof, which have led to numerous interview, conference, and TV talk show invitations. They espouse the belief that corporations and governmental organizations often act in dehumanizing ways toward the public. Elaborate props are sometimes part of the ruse, as shown in their 2003 DVD release The Yes Men. The Yes Men have collaborated with other groups of similar interest, including Improv Everywhere, Andrew Boyd and Steve Lambert.

Boasso won 47 percent in his own St. Bernard Parish, his sole plurality showing in any of his state's sixty-four parishes. From 2004 to 2008, Boasso represented Senate District 1, which includes parts of Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, and St. Tammany parishes, many of those areas having been devastated by Hurricane Katrina.

The Louisiana Science Education Act, Act 473 (SB733) of 2008 is a controversial anti-evolution law passed by the Louisiana Legislature on June 11, 2008 and signed into law by Governor Bobby Jindal on June 25. The act allows public school teachers to use supplemental materials in the science classroom which are critical of scientific theories such as evolution and global warming and to promote creationism as science. Louisiana was the first state to have passed a law of this type.
