Don Bosco High School, Hojai is a school located in Hojai, Assam. It is a Catholic school founded on the teachings of Saint John Bosco, and is run by the Salesians of Don Bosco. History

The glorious Institute which you witness today had it’s humble beginning in the year 1971. In fact 2021 is the Golden Jubilee Year. Thanks for the dedicated service and sacrifices of the pioneers like Rev. Fr. G.K. Prakash, Fr. Augustine, Fr. T.P. Antony, Fr. Nazrine Acharya, Fr. Luke Maniangat, Fr. Mathew Kanat and Fr. Mathew Anchukandam. The educational contributions of Fr. Thomas Pallichankudy, Fr. Joseph Kallikat, Fr. Alex, Fr. Saibu MSFS, Fr. Subesh SCJ and Fr. Arul SCJ deserve a high note of appreciation and the Institution remain grateful to them.

Achievement

Don Bosco High School, Hojai, now in its 50th year and ranked among one of the oldest and most prestigious educational institutions in Assam, with alumni spread across the world in the field of sports, public service, defence and others. This is no happy accident – it is a result of our robust Catholic pedagogy and our love for what we do.

Over the years, the missionaries have undertaken the challenging responsibility to establish the Catholic mission and the school at Hojai. Withstanding all the challenges and difficulties the educational mission has offered selfless service to the people. The Catholic mission has also undertaken the responsibility of running hostel for the children from faraway places. Down the decades thousands of students are benefitted from the facilities available in the hostel and settled down in their lives. The school besides its educational programmes undertakes the computer literacy programme for the benefit of the children.

The Salesian Preventive System is the educational method of the Salesians, built upon the pedagogical experience of Saint John Bosco with poor children in 19th-century Turin.
