Donald Lucas is a trombone artist and educator. He is an associate professor and Brass, Woodwind & Percussion department chair at the Boston University School of Music [1] and served as president of the International Trombone Association.
Lucas, a Fulbright Scholar, is the recipient of the Premier Prix at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama; he is the only brass musician ever to receive this prize. Lucas also has received the Bronze Medal L'unamite, Toulon International Solo Competition; First Place "Fellow", Harmony Ridge Brass Festival; first place solo and group competitions, National Christian Artists Seminar; first prize winner, ITA Frank Smith Trombone Solo Competition; and first prize, the American Classic Trombone Quartet, Summit Brass International Brass Chamber Group Competition. Lucas has performed under notable conductors Leonard Slatkin, Iván Fischer, John Adams, Hugh Wolf, and Christopher Hogwood.
Lucas has also commissioned and premiered many works by composers Theodore Antoniou, Gary D. Belshaw, Derek Bourgeouis, Jacques Casterede, Franz Cibulka, Adam Gorb, Alun Hoddinott, Elena Roussanova Lucas, David Maslanka, Daniel Schnyder, Bruce Stark, and Fisher Tull.

In addition to serving on the faculties of Boston University, Texas Tech University, Eastern New Mexico University, and Sam Houston State University, Lucas has taught numerous master classes and has given many performance across the country at venues such as Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, the Juilliard School, Terrace Theatre at the Kennedy Center, the Eastman School of Music, the United States Army Band "Pershing's Own", the West Point United States Military Academy Band, the United States Naval Academy Band, the Midwest Band and Orchestra Clinic, the MasterWorks Festival, the New York Conference of Brass Scholarships, the Eastern Trombone Workshop, 76 Trombones + 4 Trombones Festival, Harmony Ridge Brass Festival, College Band Directors National Association Convention, the Texas Bandmasters Association Convention, the Texas Music Educators Association Convention, the Christian Artists Music Festival, the Las Vegas Music Festival, the Boston University Tanglewood Institute, and dozens of appearances at universities, festivals, camps, and schools.
Lucas attended the University of North Texas College of Music, Texas Tech University (BM, MM), the University of Houston (DMA work), and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (Advanced Solo Studies Diploma). His principal teachers include Denis Wick, Robert Deahl, Al Lube, Carsten Svanberg, Phil Wilson, Michel Becquet, Allen Barnhill, John Marcellus, Leon Brown, and Dave Maser.
Lucas has released two solo albums: Hymns for Trombone and Cantabile both showcase his lyrical style. He can also be heard on recordings with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and the American Wind Symphony Orchestra. He has recorded solo and chamber music for North South Recordings and Warwick Music Publishers.

Chris Houlding was appointed Principal Trombone of the Orchestra of Opera North, England, when he was 21 and has played as Guest Principal with the best of UK ensembles and recently represented the UK in the World Orchestra of Peace in Russia. He is also known as an influential teacher and held the position of Senior Tutor at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester for many years.
Eric Crees was appointed Principal Trombone of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden (London) in 2000. Before that he spent twenty-seven years at the London Symphony Orchestra, twenty as Co-Principal Trombone. He is also a noted brass conductor, composer, arranger and teacher.
Kenneth Amis is a Bermudian tuba player best known for his association with the Empire Brass. He is also the assistant conductor of the MIT Wind Ensemble, a group he has been involved with since its creation in 1999. In addition, as of 2005, Amis is an Affiliated Artist of MIT.
Douglas Yeo is an American bass trombonist who played in the Boston Symphony Orchestra from 1985 to 2012, where he held the John Moors Cabot Bass Trombone Chair. He was also on the faculty of the New England Conservatory. In 2012 he retired from the BSO and accepted a position as professor of trombone at the Arizona State University School of Music, a position he held until 2016. In 2019, he was appointed to the faculty of Wheaton College (Illinois).
John Marcellus is a trombone musician and teacher. He was Professor of Trombone at the Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester, and past Chair of the Woodwind, Brass, and Percussion Department. In addition to his trombone teaching responsibilities at Eastman, Dr. Marcellus was the conductor of the Eastman Trombone Choir, Eastman Bionic Bones, and the trombonist with the Eastman Brass. Dr. Marcellus joined the faculty of the Eastman School in 1978, and was named the Kilbourn Professor from 1982-83. He succeeded the trombonist and teacher, Emory Remington, who served as Professor of Trombone at Eastman close to 50 years. Professor Marcellus retired in 2014 after 36 years at Eastman.
David Sartor is an American composer and conductor of symphonic, chamber, and choral music. He is on the music faculty of Belmont University, and is the founder and music director of the Parthenon Chamber Orchestra.
Bernard Rands is a British-American contemporary classical composer. He studied music and English literature at the University of Wales, Bangor, and composition with Pierre Boulez and Bruno Maderna in Darmstadt, Germany, and with Luigi Dallapiccola and Luciano Berio in Milan, Italy. He held residencies at Princeton University, the University of Illinois, and the University of York before emigrating to the United States in 1975; he became a U.S. citizen in 1983. In 1984, Rands's Canti del Sole, premiered by Paul Sperry, Zubin Mehta, and the New York Philharmonic, won the Pulitzer Prize for Music. He has since taught at the University of California, San Diego, the Juilliard School, Yale University, and Boston University. From 1988 to 2005 he taught at Harvard University, where he is Walter Bigelow Rosen Professor of Music Emeritus.
Abigail Sin Si Ern is a Singaporean concert pianist. She was hailed by Time Asia magazine as a bona fide prodigy and one of Asia's "Small Wonders" when she was ten years old.

Jessica Zhu is a Chinese-American pianist who is currently undertaking a doctorate in musical arts (DMA) under the supervision of Paul Roberts and Caroline Rae at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, in London. She previously received a Master in Performance (MPerf) and an Artist Diploma with distinction from the Guildhall, where she studied with full scholarship as a 2009 Marshall Scholar.

Kathryn Salfelder is a contemporary American composer, conductor and pianist, based in the Boston area. She has received commissions from the Albany Symphony, Boston Musica Viva, United States Air Force Band – Washington D.C., American Bandmasters Association, New York Virtuoso Singers, and Japan Wind Ensemble Conductors Conference (JWECC).
Li-Wei Qin is a Chinese-Australian cellist. He won the Silver Medal at the 11th International Tchaikovsky Competition in 1998, and First Prize at the 2001 International Naumburg Competition in New York.
